When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do–blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.

In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves. Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.I think I suck at being a human, but I am trying, especially so about keeping my ego in check.
Post #31 - don’t forget the boxed wine and 8 feral cats.
See if this clears the hurdle: Zelensky is as corrupt if not moreso than Putin, who we all know seems to have a fancy for the Vommunist days of yore. I couldn’t support either side in this because both are failed nation-states in my view.
So, it seemed reasonable, in that instance, to ask what it was going to cost to lose his contribution and to explain why I wanted to know.
If he’s going to take is money and run and blame it on these threads that I find valuable, then I don’t want FR to financially be hurt for it.

We appreciate Canada’s decision to join the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16: Volodymyr Zelenskyy following talks with Justin Trudeau in Ottawa

We appreciate Canada
During his working visit to Canada, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Canada for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Canada has provided our country with over 8 billion Canadian dollars and trained almost 40 thousand Ukrainian servicemen in the framework of Operation UNIFIER.
“During this war, and in various other times, our state and our people have received from Canada only respect, only a desire to help, only trust. And please know: we appreciate this attitude, we are grateful to you. Ukraine will definitely remember this,” the President said during a conversation with media representatives following the negotiations with Justin Trudeau in Ottawa.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that when Ukraine wins, it will be a joint victory with Canada, with all friends and partners, and with the free world.
In the course of the negotiations, the parties discussed defense cooperation. The Head of State noted Canada’s leadership in humanitarian de-mining and expressed hope that with Canadian support, the task of clearing the entire Ukrainian land of mines and unexploded ordnance would be realized.
“I really appreciate Canada’s decision to join the F-16 pilot training program. Thank you, Justin. Today we discussed in detail the reinforcement of our sky shield. I thanked the Prime Minister for his government’s decision to purchase a new batch of missiles for Ukraine’s air defense systems. This is a very timely decision given the daily Russian attacks with missiles and Iranian “Shaheds” against our cities, our people, our civilian infrastructure,” the President said.
In addition, today Ukraine received a new defense support package from Canada, which includes armored fighting vehicles and armored evacuation vehicles necessary to save the lives of wounded soldiers.
The meeting also focused on cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the military industry, including joint arms production.
“We look forward to the participation of Canadian companies in the first Defense Industries Forum to be held in Ukraine shortly,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He noted that the updated Free Trade Agreement signed today will serve as a basis for rebuilding Ukraine.
The President emphasized Canada’s readiness to continue sanctions pressure on Russia to prevent it from increasing its financing of aggression.
The parties also discussed various aspects of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular the points related to justice: convicting Russia for aggression and compensating for all the damage it caused. The Head of State thanked Canada for supporting the organization of the Global Peace Summit.
“I am also grateful for the leadership in the work on security guarantees for Ukraine for the period before joining NATO. Our teams are working on the preparation of a bilateral document on security guarantees,” he emphasized.
In conclusion, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Canada and its government for the fact that the Ukrainian culture and community in this country are always on a par with all other communities and cultures and feel respected.
For his part, Justin Trudeau announced the allocation of 650 million Canadian dollars in military aid to Ukraine over the next three years.
He confirmed that Canada would provide instructors to train pilots on F-16s and help with tank maintenance. In addition, Ukraine will receive 35 drones with hi-res cameras, armored vehicles, and ammunition.
It was also confirmed that Canada will make a financial contribution to the creation of a consortium for the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine and will provide significant macroeconomic assistance to our country in the 2024 fiscal year.
Justin Trudeau assured: Canada will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
There was no war until Putin brought one.
And Putin can end it any time he wants to and then the killing and the threat of escalation and nuclear war go away.
Peace, man. He could be that guy: a man of peace.
But as long as he is attacking his neighbor, he’s no man of peace.
The preceding words in Matthew frame the quote: "So when you give to the needy...." You left them out. The chapter is interesting also in views to praying, which seem somewhat inconsistent with the very public -- at least as far as this forum is concerned -- praying.
But the last, non-scriptural statement is interesting on its own: "I think I suck at being a human, but I am trying, especially so about keeping my ego in check."
So should we all.
I can be a bit wordy and I do hate to bore people, especially with things they already know.
Cheers!
I don’t think you notice how often you name-call, taunt, and insult. Your comments are often the same and false.
Yup. 2 murder threats made against me wasn’t even enough to earn a suspension or zot (Alter Kaker and MeganC being the culprits), but others not on the globalist side have been routinely suspended for doing nothing more than being critical of the globalist trolls. I’ve had dozens of posts removed, quite possibly hundreds (given that some entire threads have been deleted) for doing nothing more than defending myself and calling out the trolls and never have I issued a death threat against a poster, because I know full well that I would be zotted, even after 22 years of posting here.
Very disturbing these double standards.
Zelensky could end this today. He won’t, because he needs this civil war to remain an absolute dictator and won’t have to face an electorate for which 80% hold him responsible for the corruption he lied to the public about that he promised would clean up.
If someone breaks into your home, do you “Stand Your Ground” or do you retreat and let them have what they want?

On the frontline, Ukraine has advanced toward the village of Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Although the gains haven’t been too significant, the push shows that Kyiv’s forces are managing to slowly but steadily pierce through reinforced Russian defenses.

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred seventy sixth day of the war.
Day 576: Sep 22
Today, there is a lot of news from the south.
As promised by the Head of Ukrainian Intelligence, the attacks on the Russian bases in Crimea continued. By conducting these operations, Ukrainians are pursuing 2 goals of strategic significance: undermine supplies to the front and force Russians to relocate their air defense away from the front.
Today, Ukrainians conducted a very complex strike, combining aerial drones, modified anti-ship missiles, and cruise missiles. The main target of today’s strike became the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Interestingly, 2 days ago, we saw how Ukrainians destroyed the secondary headquarters of the Command of the Fleet, so it looks like Ukrainians wanted to make sure that the Russian Command was present in the main building during today’s strike.
There were 2 stages. At FIRST, Ukrainians launched several groups of drones toward Tarkhankut and Sevastopol to overload the air defense and then tried to strike Sevastopol with Neptune missiles. Russians were waiting for and prioritizing the missiles, which is why even though some drones hit their targets, all Neptune missiles were shot down.
But the strike continued, seamlessly flowing into the SECOND stage. The aerial drone strikes intensified even more, and Russians could no longer ignore it. Local residents reported explosions in Feodosia, likely near the oil depots. Explosions were also reported in Chornomorske and Saky, where the drones likely targeted the airfield. Ukrainian drones were also seen close to Simferopol. All of that was done to exhaust the Russian air defense because some Russian systems, like the remaining S-400, could intercept missiles very far from the area where they are stationed.
And it worked, because when Ukrainians launched Storm Shadow missiles, they once again flew over Tarkhankut, without being shot down, implying that air defense was overwhelmed. As a result, Ukrainians successfully hit the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet. Russian sources reported that the missile hit precisely the cabinet of the Commander of the Black Sea Navy. Other sources noted that there were at least 6 casualties. Russian forces understood that there were likely more missiles to come, which is why they turned on the siren and deployed smokescreen to conceal the navy. And the Russians were right, because very soon, local residents managed to catch on camera the arrival of 2 more missiles.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainians hit the Navy Headquarters, and as a result, 1 person is missing, who was likely the commander himself. Other military-affiliated sources claimed that there was no one in the building, however, dozens of ambulances suggest otherwise. In response to the strike, Russians rolled out their multiple-launch rocket systems to the shore, however, no one knows why.
Russian military analysts got upset with the performance of the Russian air defense and expressed doubt about the characteristics of the highly-praised S-400 air defense system, as even the remaining 3 systems on the peninsula should have coped with the strike, especially given their integration with other systems on the peninsula. Some Russian analysts have been asserting for already 3 days in a row that Ukrainians are actually using ATACMS missiles that were shipped to Ukraine discreetly. But the abundant photos and videos clearly show that Russians were struck with Strom Shadow and Scalp missiles.
Nonetheless, today it was confirmed that the United States will send Ukraine ATACMS missiles. President Biden reportedly promised President Zelensky to send a small number of such missiles. However, Ukrainians should receive not the 300 km version that can wipe out big targets but a 140 km cluster bomb variant.
This is extremely good news because Ukrainians already have HIMARS systems that can be used to launch them, so no additional steps are needed (like training or modification of aircraft that Ukrainians had to introduce to Su-24 to be able to carry Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles). Judging by the dynamics inside the Russian media space, Russians are already bracing for the new wave of strikes in the deep rear.

32 years of corrupt leaders sold the Ukraine to criminal oligarchs. It ceased to be a legitimate state that could manage its own affairs, sadly.
I don’t expect a neighbor (Russia), who once owned said property, to sit idly by while all hell breaks loose and threatens them. Would you if you were them ? Because that’s what your advocating. I had a neighbor like that.
The Russians broke into the Russian Federation oblasts?
The Russian forces are in the Russian Federation. They ARE home.
