I womder if they really are contaminated.

TPTB hate regular people eating meat. I don’t blindly trust some of these “recalls” of so much meat.

If they find a problem in a batch processed at a certain facility, they probably recall all of it out of caution.

Having worked in the food industry for a number of years I have to say that most recalled foods are not contaminated but no one wants to be Bil-Mar Foods. So they error on the side of caution.

In this case if you cook the meat it should be fine. Where you have to worry is in the contaminated vegetables and fruits. Listeria and Aflatoxin are the ones that sends shivers down everyone's spines because they get into foods that people do not cook.

Would the US government claim something was contaminated when it was not, forcing a recall for some other reason? They not only would but they have.

So your suspicion is grounded in fact.
