Thank you for your reply and candid opinions. I am not in favor of endless foreign wars and US involvement either. But I am a realist as well. My opinion is not important to what the people running Biden think. Again, if we ARE going to give support to the Ukes, is it not better that that support be enough to make a difference? This is a serious question and I am asking all the regular posters in support of NOT aiding the Ukes to respond here as well.
Not a jerk but genuinely looking fir the right path forward for the US here.

US President Joe Biden has welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House and reassured him that America remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.

“Earlier this week at the UN General Assembly, I made it clear that no nation can be truly secure in the world if, in fact, we don’t stand up and defend the freedom of Ukraine in the face of this Russian brutality and aggression. Biden said the United States has begun the process of “formalising our long-term commitment to Ukraine’s security” along with other G7 leaders and other international partners, and that’s why it supports a “just and lasting peace, one that respects Ukrainian sovereignty and its territorial integrity”.
The US president also praised the “enormous bravery” of the Ukrainian people.
“It has inspired the world, really inspired the world with a determination to defend these principles. And together with our partners and allies, the American people are determined to see to all we can to ensure the world stands with you,” Biden said.
BACKGROUND:
During his meeting with Zelenskyy, Biden is expected to announce over US$325 million in new military aid. According to two US officials, it will include more cluster munitions. This is the second time the United States has provided Kyiv with “controversial weapons”.
Earlier, the Ukrainian president visited Capitol Hill, where he described his meeting with US senators as a “wonderful dialogue”.
Zelenskyy also met with lawmakers from the US House of Representatives.
Ok then sit the parties down and work out new lines that both can live with. Peace benefits both sides more than war.

How about NOT meddling in Ukraine in 2014 which led to this war now.

Peace does not benefit Zelensky. He can officially function as an unelected dictator so long as this civil war continues. We should not be providing him with any support, financial or militarily, period.

The Ukrainian army fights. The US and NATO supply weapons. Day by day the Russian army gets worn down the ground. No US or NATO combat boots on the ground.

An explosion occurred in the Russian city of Tula,causing a power outage for 5,000 residents.

Residents of Tula reported a loud explosion. After that, the power went out in part of the city.
It is not yet known what exactly happened. The city and regional authorities did not comment. Almost 5,000 people in the Zarichevsky district of the city were left without power.

The US Department of Defense will not disclose details of the provision of Abrams battle tanks to Ukraine and the arrival of Ukrainians for F-16 training, but insists that these processes are going as planned.

In response to a question about the timing of the Abrams’ arrival in Ukraine, Ryder said that “everything is on schedule”.
“For security reasons, I’m not going to be able to go into specifics in terms of when the tanks will arrive, other than to say that we expect them to arrive in Ukraine in the coming days and weeks,” he added.
The Pentagon spokesman separately said that training for Ukrainians on F-16 fighter jets has already begun in Denmark.
Abrams tanks to be in Ukraine soon – Austin
“As it relates to the training in the United States, we do expect Ukrainian pilots and maintainers to arrive in the United States soon to conduct the initial English language training, and then the pilot training is to start a few weeks after that,” Ryder explained.
The Biden administration announced its intention to send Abrams tanks to Ukraine in January. It took this step after months of insisting that the tanks were too complex and difficult to maintain and repair in order to prompt Germany to supply Leopard tanks.
The first shipment of Abrams tanks to Ukraine was approved for delivery in early August.
One of the latest aid packages from the US includes depleted-uranium shells for the Abrams.
