A 6-year-old Texas boy who was pummeled with a bat by his neighbor will be slowly “weaned” off a ventilator as he begins to recover from the ordeal, his family said.
His father, Arthur Diaz, said in an update on GoFundMe that “Jeremy continues to show signs of improvement.”
“As of this morning, he has wrestled control over the functions of his lungs and they are looking to wean him off the ventilator, as it appears he no longer needs it’s support,” he wrote on the fundraiser, which has raised more than $220,000.
“In Jiu Jitsu speak, he rolled with death and subdued it. He rolled for the function of his limbs and won. He has now rolled for control of his lungs, and it appears that he will win that battle too.”
Authorities did not release a motive for the horrific attack against the child.

OMG...WE HAVE FERAL ANIMALS IN THIS COUNTRY!
This particular feral animal is a white guy.
thank God he’s improving.
Those who harm children don’t do well in prison is what I understand.
Finally, an anti-Asian hate crime that we're allowed to talk about.
Animals come in all shades and both sexes.
Demonic
I’m up for a road trip.
drugs? again.
A Williamson County jury will max the perp with a 99 year sentence, but we have lots to learn about Daniel Logan of Georgetown, Texas.
The only emotion this guy knows is hatred.
Hey, Texas still has the death penalty ... how about terminating him with a bat.
Who cares what color the DISGUSTING feral animal is.
“Hey, Texas still has the death penalty.”
Unless the victim dies, there is no death penalty in this case but he will get a hard 99 years.
In the joint for beating up a kid?
Yeah, that 99 years will not be fun ...
If that were my child I would be behind bars right now.
Logan my not last 99 minutes in TDC.
The most ineptly written story I’ve ever see. Positively MORONIC.
