“My doctor was a conservative. He got crankier and crankier the older he got. When I was 50, I went in, he was a heart doctor, Cedar-Sinai, and he had signs up all around his office at this point [saying] ‘We do not accept Obamacare,’ and I f---ing hated this side of him that I only learned over time," Odenkirk explained.
“So, I’d been with him for 20 years, and he said, ‘You need to start taking statins right now,’” Odenkirk continued, referring to the group of medicines that are known to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood. “And I said, ‘Well, I don’t know. I don’t have heart disease in my family.’ He goes, ‘Just take 'em.’ And I didn't listen to him."
The “Better Call Saul” actor said that he then went to another doctor to get a second opinion and to have "more thorough research done on my heart."
"And the other doctor said, 'You don't need medicine yet.' And I had a heart attack," Odenkirk explained. "And I think the first doctor was right, the cranky conservative jack--- was right, because he was a god damn good doctor."

Man the guy is really not too bright. Not worth my time to unpack all the stupidity revealed in that quote. Sad.
Saul Good,man
what a liar. had a heart attack in 2021, the middle of vax season, and pretends it was due to declining statins.
nice try loser.
Is there any study that actually says statins protect against heart attacks?
link to the vid?
This article has nothing to do with the vax……..give it a rest .
….
it has everything to do with it.
Two tier justice system......
I have some plaque but cholesterol is fine. Dr said use statins. I am looking at other classes of drugs.
Also somebody posted that you could vote for Hillary by tweeting (satirical tweet) and was charged with election interference. That was on Tucker Carlson back in the day.
Study shows stations reduce bad cholesterol LDL.
Which should help keep arteries clog up less. So it is indirectly supposed to help.
Better way to keep arteries open is aerobic exercise. Sticky plaque gets washed away from faster flowing blood.
My doctor recommended statins. For some people there are side effects. I am not a doctor.
Nattokinase
Statins are the most studied drugs in the World. They work but you have to find the right one for you.
Hubby was put on a statin based on his cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Except his cholesterol and triglyceride levels have ALWAYS been slightly elevated, even in his 30s. He’s 70 now, 5’9” and weighs ~160 lbs. He never took the statin because he was afraid of the side effects.
There are Japanese studies that show high dose Vitamin K2 MK4 can reduce plaque. It is prescribed in Japan. Koncentrated K has the dosage they use. I am also not a Dr. YMMV
Some studies show people taking statins have a slightly lower death rate than people not taking it. However, a lot of other things affect your health.
