Fair enough.
“Stupid” is mostly regarded as a term of derogation.
Still, what sticks out to me like a sore thumb is the glaring similitude of the two stories — separated by 2000 years, as they are.
In BOTH, ONLY the woman “caught in the very act” stands condemned before the mob. The men, also — necessarily — “caught in the very act” slip free to dissolve into the shrubbery.
Can it truly be that NOTHING has changed for women in 2000 years???
There was a time not so long ago when women were put on a pedestal and conducted themselves in ways that brought them honor and respect.
