Bolt-on components and conversions are a great way to modify just about any vehicle. They’re virtually all made by aftermarket manufacturers, but Ford has a plan to change that. Ford has patented a bolt-on conversion kit to turn an F-150 into a 6×6 off-roader.

You clearly have no idea what I am saying.
It’s not a 6x6, already there is a false selling point. ALL three axles have to be drive axles to be considered as 6x6. That is a 4x6 because the rear axle is just a ride along “tag axle” like a trailer axle.
“Tag axles” like that cause more harm than good in real use. They hang the middle drive axle in the air so that it cannot drive the vehicle. Built several and they were failures off road, couldn’t even go up a steep drive way because the middle axle would hang in the air. BOTH back and the front axles need to be drive axles to be any good for off roading.
A standard 4x4 will leave this thing behind sitting in the ditch. If you take this off road you will want to take along a buddy with a 4x4 to keep pulling you out. lol
“You clearly have no idea what I am saying.”
What are you saying?
obviously you didn't bother to read the article!
I’m saying who wants hp in a truck other than the phaggot azzed raptors? I don’t want a supercharger, I don’t need hp, I definitely don’t need vvt, especially in a dohc configuration. Gimme a simple ohv V8 with 500 ft lbs of torque. That’s 90% of the market and the fugs at Ford can’t figure it out.
“Gimme a simple ohv V8 with 500 ft lbs of torque. That’s 90% of the market and the fugs at Ford can’t figure it out.”
Please explain why Ford is #1 in sales if 90% of the market doesn’t want them?
“I don’t need hp,”.
T = HP / (RPM / 5252}
I thought it was for the Electric version of the F-150. If so, my response was going to be, and I quote: “You can put lipstick on a pig...”
I was going by the diagram in the OP. It has a TAG axle in the back, not a drive axle...
No I didn’t, I gave up on the tag axle idea presented and immediately dismissed the concept.
Been there... Tried it.
If they offer a tag setup like the diagram in the OP don’t buy it.
“I was going by the diagram in the OP. It has a TAG axle in the back, not a drive axle...”
Which was not labeled as a 6x6.
The title claims it... And the diagram does not represent it.
“The title claims it... And the diagram does not represent it.”
The title refers to the article, not the OP’s snip. The article references the patent which is for a 6x6. ALL 6 WHEELS driven.
“Which was not labeled as a 6x6.”
The diagram is not labelled at all. The title and the article claims 6x6. The diagram is not 6x6. Obviously a simple mistake of including an inaccurate non-representative diagram.
But who needs enemies when you have FRiends right?
We were just discussing that elsewhere. “too busy fighting each other to fight the powers that be.”
“The title and the article claims 6x6.”
And a 6x6 is in the patent as shown in the article.
An EV truck with a towing range of 231 feet sounds about right.
Whats the alternative gasoline wise? Ford engines are shite and they even admit it. I see plenty of early 90s Ford trucks running around Houston every day. You wont see any of the current crop of trucks running around 30 years from now because their dohc engines are crap. Their service dept will wholeheartedly agree.
OK, now you can go thump your chest like King Kong... :)
“Ford engines are shite”
ROTFLMAO!
For the last 23 years I have had Ford V-8s. I drive them hard. ZERO problems.
From the factory every engine is built to handle supercharger power levels.
And my VCT DOHC 750 hp gets 28 mpg on cruise control at 65 mph.
In fact, the first Coyote engines were capable of generating so much power that Ford had to devise a way to solidify the engine walls. According to early testing, the 5.0 liter V8 engine was capable of producing as much hp as that of the 6.4-liter Hemi and was much more dependable to boot.

You’re an idiot. Ford cam phaser issues are widely known across their whole crappy line of dohc products.
They really meant ‘666’, but are disguising it.
“You’re an idiot. Ford cam phaser issues are widely known across their whole crappy line of dohc products.”
Then why are F-150’s and Mustangs outselling Chevys and Dodges?
