I cut the cable about a year ago. Now,I watch The Old Geezer Channel (AKA: The Crime Channel) on Channel 50. About half the ads are for medications...specifically,diabetes and psoriasis meds.

Diabetes is serious. It can,and does, cause very serious problems from blindness,to kidney failure,to heart attacks. OTOH,I'm sure that psoriasis isn't fun but probably doesn't shorten one's life.

There are the “bent carrot” ads-and what I have read about the treatment, I’d rather have a bent carrot.

Ya,I’ve seen those. But they’re not on the channel I watch. I guess old geezers just accept that the plumbing won’t be working very well.

What do you mean by. “ live tv “. ?

So called local news/sports/whatever and so called talk shows.

The basic Cable b$ 24/7, especially so called news/sports and live anything on ABCCBSNBCFOX.

If we can’t stream a show, we don’t watch it.

Not only that, they seem to want to set them all to music and dancing. It's easy to tell that most marketing departments are now composed of artsy, vapid, egotistical leftist women.

I watched an old TV show on one of those streaming freevee channels last weekend and it was drug commercials like 4 to 1. I didn’t realize it had gotten that bad.

Especially the side effects. Yes. I want to risk heart attack because I have a patch of psoriasis. You bet.

Drug companies control commercial TV now.

Because it increases business for the whole medical industry. It increases the probability of more doctor’s visits, testing, procedures, the need for other medications to help cure the side effects of one medication, all while keeping patients in a chronic state of poor health needing perpetual care.

About half the ads are for medications...specifically, diabetes and psoriasis meds.

The other half are for lawsuits against the deamage caused by the meds of a few years earlier.

Pharma spends money on patient advertising because it’s effective.
