JMO. No need to apologize. It’s good to get multiple points of view. I’m willing to listen to pretty much anyone until they show me they are not worth my time.

#1 reason I won’t listen to someone: lying.

It can be very difficult to tell when someone is lying, because there are so many things that are difficult to verify or disprove. And I differentiate between lying and being wrong. Most of us have been wrong about something at one time or another. I certainly have been.

The other thing that is difficult (for me, anyway) is trying to figure out if someone who is lying is doing it KNOWINGLY. I’ve seen people who have gone down one rabbit hole or another and have become convinced that they are right about something, who can point to evidence on their side just like I point to evidence on my side. The best example of that is all the people who truly believed the vax was a good thing and would protect them and others. Not all of those people were evil or lying. They were just people who believed OTHER people who were lying and showed them false data.

I’ve read a moderate amount about the “US is a corporation” stuff and I can’t say I buy it. But I won’t argue against it, either. Mostly, it just feels like a lot of legal gibberish and word salad to me. So my reaction is to mostly ignore it and instead focus on things I can understand. (Though I will offer my opinion that if laws are so incomprehensible that the average person can’t understand them, then perhaps they are poor laws. How can we be expected to obey laws we don’t understand?)

“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.” ― Ayn Rand

I'm with you there! Also if they say stuff that is untrue but they believe it.
