It is from Maritime Tactical Signal Code, used by semaphore, signal flags, morse code flashing light, radio, and other channels of communication.

The combination of the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, Bravo Zulu, referred to as “BZ,” is a naval signal, typically conveyed by the hoist of a flag or voice radio, to convey “Well Executed” with regard to actions, operations or performance since simplified to “Well done”.

I graduated from high school at 17 (skipped a grade) and Dad took me to Chattanooga to buy the bug. I could drive a tractor and ride a motorcycle, but he made me drive the bug home. His way of teaching me to drive stick I guess. LOL He had to work with me some on the hills but I soon learned to hold one on a hill by having the left foot on the brake and clutch and the right on the gas on a hill. That came in handy when holding the ton truck with a trailer full of horses on a hill. 😂

in the service, overseas, we were paid in MPC (Military Payment Certificates)no coins, all bills, even for cents.

Every now and then, all the bases got locked down and you changed your current MPC for new ones.
For instance, the RED $20 dollar note will now be BLUE.

Easy to see the counterfeits.

After the specified date, RED $20 notes were no longer accepted, had no US backing, and were worthless to the civilian population.(and to you, if you didn’t exchange the bills).

I guess we won’t have to worry about any of that if the FEDs decide we go digital.
