I think it was a 72 bug that I first drove stick
well kinda
It was late (probably early actually) at a party and
I was blocked in the driveway by Rosner’s old bug
I found him but he just mumbled that the keys were in it.
I figured it out and put it in the street.

I graduated from high school at 17 (skipped a grade) and Dad took me to Chattanooga to buy the bug. I could drive a tractor and ride a motorcycle, but he made me drive the bug home. His way of teaching me to drive stick I guess. LOL He had to work with me some on the hills but I soon learned to hold one on a hill by having the left foot on the brake and clutch and the right on the gas on a hill. That came in handy when holding the ton truck with a trailer full of horses on a hill. 😂
