More than once I have wondered pickles have not been a more regular topping on pizza. Glad they are giving it a try.

There are a couple of local places here that do justice to a combo I like, which is sourdough crust, pesto sauce, sausage and mushrooms.

I turned my neighbors on to it and they order that all the time.

Great suggestion on the toppings. I make a mean Kale Pesto. ;)

I started with this recipe, but I always add lemon zest and the nuts I use are usually 1/2 pine nuts and 1/2 walnuts.

Actually, there is a pizza standard dubbed Hawaiian that is quite good.

It is a standard pizza with sauce and cheese and ham and pineapple.

The change from say peperoni and sweet Italian sausage and mushrooms is ok on occassion

I’m quite aware of what a Hawaiian pizza is. And I still stand by my original statement. I’m quite fine with pineapple as long as it’s in a bowl and not on the pizza itself. I know a few people who are quite fine with fruit on top of a pizza. I’m not one of those people.

I buy a Digorno or Palermo cheese pizza and put my own toppings on with extra tomato sauce. They turn out pretty well.
