Escaped prisoner Danelo Cavalcante was subdued by K-9s before he was captured by cops on Wednesday morning, ending a two week-long manhunt that struck terror into a Pennsylvania community.
The 34-year-old was serving a life sentence for the murder of his ex-girlfriend at the Chester County Prison, 30 miles west of Philadelphia, when he escaped on August 31 by scaling a wall like a spider.
After a bloodied Cavalcante was captured, the SWAT officers in the search team paraded him like a trophy and lined up with a photo of him around 8am EST.
The Brazilian, who is in the US illegally, was arrested in a wooded area near South Coventry Township, inside the updated perimeter set up by police this week. He had reportedly been hiding with the rifle he stole on Monday when he was found under a pile of logs.
The killer's capture, which took about five minuts, brings relief to anxious residents of southeastern Pennsylvania who endured sleepless nights as he hid in the woods, broke into suburban homes for food, changed his appearance, and fled under gunfire with a rifle pilfered from a garage.
Authorities used thermal imaging from an aircraft to pinpoint a possible location and then used ground forces to capture Cavalcante, State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said on Wednesday.
About 25 officers were able to surprise him as they surrounded him, but Cavalcante still tried to escape again by crawling through the tall grass with the rifle. Officials then released a police dog to capture the killer.
Cavalcante was bitten and treated for the injury at the scene, Bivens said.
State police were seen posing with the Brazil native after his capture at around 8am EST. State police they will provide details of the capture at 9.30am.

He don't look so good.
Army Rangers should have been called in immediately.
I seem to recall a certain highly placed politician strongly suggesting that illegal aliens did NOT represent the best and brightest of their native countries.
I'm thinking that said highly placed politician has a valid point.
I agree. I’m also shocked he was taken alive considering he was armed.
He’s right. Third world countries are sending us their criminals to alleviate their problems.
He should have left the city to get away.
Looks a bit roughed up.
It’s not working. We are loving it.
That look on his face knowing he’s going into the shoe when he gets back to prison. Welcome to America asshole. I hope they keep him in the shoe for the next ten years.
This POS should have been killed on the spot.
Here is the obituary of his victim in the US:

He came here illegally after killing someone in Brazil.
He has already cost US Taxpayers big. By the time this is all done he will saddle taxpayers with MILLIONS in costs.
at least they didnt say Chester County man, or Chester County resident ...
The “trophy shot” was stupid. Worse is the usual press conference with dumpy, buzz-cut LEOS crowding around a podium to congratulate each other.
What do you think he was a J6 escapee??
What do you think he was a J6 escapee??
I take it Pennsylvania does not have the death penalty.
He should get all he can of the sky, because he’s not going to be seeing it again for a long, long time.
Looks a bit roughed up.

Nahhh. He just scratched his head a little while hiding from authorities. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Wasn’t drag queen related.
America hating media leftists are already trying to discredit the great work law enforcement did. I'm probably not alone in saying I'd have been happier if they posed with this border busting democRAT foot soldier hanging upside down from a tree like a dead deer.
The cops might have been Steeler fans.
