Aaron Rodgers made his highly-anticipated debut for the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. He was acquired during the offseason via trade with the Green Bay Packers to potentially make the Jets a Super Bowl contender this year.
Unfortunately, disaster struck almost immediately during their game against the Buffalo Bills. Rodgers injured his Achilles on just his fourth play for his new team and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. The news got even worse the following morning after an MRI confirmed he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear.
Making this terrible situation even more frustrating is that Aaron Rodgers may have somewhat seen it coming. Jets reporter Zack Rosenblatt and NFL insider Dianna Russini recently reported that the quarterback expressed to his new coaching staff some concerns about specific play-calls in relation to their offensive. Apparently, the exact type of play that he wanted to avoid, he got injured on.
"Aaron Rodgers reportedly expressed to the Jets coaching staff that he wasn’t a fan of play-calls that involved cut blocks from the OL due to not being able to extend the play and having to get the ball out quickly."
Rodgers must not have been on the same page as offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who called the exact type of play that his quarterback wished to avoid.
The decision cost Rodgers his entire 2023 NFL season and could potentially be career-ending, considering the severity of the injury relative to his age. He admittedly already contemplated retirement before the season, so this could potentially be his deciding factor.
Don’t watch sports any more. Cut cable back in 2012. Too many communist leftists prosper when one worships at the pro sports altars.
Wow, Jets rhymes with Mets on several levels.
Your Achilles Tendon isn’t a loose hanging thread hanging between your knee and ankle! It doesn’t “recoil” up your leg when it’s severed!
It’s firmly attached to the muscles and whatever else. If you saw movement on the calf, it was probably a convulsion of the muscle, pain or something like that.
I actually DO know this. Mine was completely severed about 20 years ago and believe me, it stays right there in place - severed or ruptured. Had surgery and it was sewn back together and a 100% recovery. I even asked the surgeon about hearing that and they laughed and said that is never true!
I’m a huge Rodgers fan, but I’m calling BS because you can’t tell me this Hall of Famer got a play from Hackett but didn’t change it despite telling the coaches in advance it was the type of play that would get himself injured. Zach Wilson doesn’t dare change a play, but Aaron bleeping Rodgers changes whatever he feels like. So either this story is wrong or Rodgers is lying about what he said in advance.
Well, to be honest, if he HAD been vaccinated many here would have blamed it on the vax. They blame EVERYTHING on the vax. Just like the climate nuts blame everything on climate change.
I’ve heard that New England might be an exception. Apparently Robert Kraft wants to use the World Cup as an opportunity to replace the turf in Foxboro with natural grass permanently.
Well, that demonstrates the point even more. The NFL doesn’t care about their own players.
The only reason for them to use the turf is if they're hosting multiple events in addition to football. But I don't think they're doing that in Foxboro so they might as well as have natural grass. They'll have to ask for help from Green Bay, similar harsh climate so they'll have to find a way to maintain the natural grass in the middle of winter.
Isn’t this the self same Hackett that helped Russett Wilsons QB meteor to crater? I know his Father is a POS as an O Coordinator, as a former Seahawk fan.
If it was important to the players, they’d force the issue in their contract negotiations. But they don’t do that because the NFLPA consistently does the worst job of any professional athletes’ collective bargaining organization in North America.
Yes, even the turf bolstered by the ground up tire rubber. Grass is natural, grass is good. Mud or snow games are also the best.
That's a good point.
How do I know this? I've ruptured both my patellar tendons, pulling them off my kneecap. When that happens, the quad muscle "windowshades" up. It is pretty important to reattach the tendon within 2 weeks of injury, otherwise the quad muscle "sets" in contraction and is much harder to stretch back to its original length.
Climate change didn’t kill a relative, cause another a stroke, or cause heart issues for a third one. It also didn’t cause a friend to have a stroke. The Vax however....
So strokes didn’t occur before the vax?
3 go to get the mnra injection. Within 6 weeks one is in the ground, one stokes out and another has to have heart surgery for clots with no prior history of issues.

The pro-vax sheep will tell you that there is nothing to see here. Even as evidence has shown a huge uptick in deaths and sickness, they will stand by Herr Fauci, their savior. Fauci, coincidentally has said that myocarditis is a symptom of the jab, but pay no attention to that.
