Impressive.
I was with a friend fishing in Tampa Bay one day many years ago and saw the most amazing sight. There was a beautiful, Victorian home being transported, intact, across the Bay on a barge. On the other side of the house was a large waterspout.
YA we always drank a lot when we went out for red snapper ..
but we never really got in the wind until after we were out of the bay...
Just kidding ...
That sounds like one of those once in a lifetime events ... the ones that every time you tell some one , you get that look . And a ....”O ya sure “...
But you know ... you were there ... a treasure for your mind.
Global Warming.
this is a little off subject, but, i hope somebody else remembers this. Back in like the 1960’s i believe, i remember actual stories about how and why people thought tornadoes formed, and it was down right crazy. Popular Mechanics magazine had an actual story about some meteorologists actually thought that because tornadoes were a “mid-west” thing, they believed that the opposite directions cars traveled on mid-west interstate freeways, was why tornadoes formed in those States. Also, that you could detect if a tornado was coming by turning your television to VHF channel 3, and if it turned snow white with interference, then one was coming!.....anybody else remember this stuff??....also, opening all your windows so the house doesnt explode...yeesh...
The windows part I definitely remember.
It wasn’t the floating chapel, maybe? There is one that floats around the area and can be used as a wedding venue. It’s pretty impressive.
I have seen many water spouts from in my 40 years living in St. Pete - Clearwater area.

Poseidon

Charybdis
I’ve seen as many as four of them in the ocean at the same time driving up the Keys highway. My brother, who lived in the Keys, said he saw a cabin cruiser purposely drive into one. After being tossed around on beams end for a bit it managed to get away.
If an ef5 tornado is bearing down on you, quickly bend over, putting your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.
