If I could buy local, I happily would, if the price were comparable. Usually, though, it’s not even a matter of price, the item is simply not available locally. And even in a city area like Reno and Sparks, with nearly half a million people, my shopping options are very limited, limited stock. Out of curiosity, I just glanced through the last 20 items purchase via Amazon, only three could’ve been picked up locally.
Amazon has created substantial competition.
Most everything available on Amazon is available with free shipping on Ebay. I use Ebay and Pay Pal
I opened a Walmart account ant found it to be the same. To my surprise, extreme surprise, the vitamins I ordered on line were delivered to my door within two hours of placing the order.
If I could buy local, I happily would....

Me too. Thing is - I live so far out in the sticks that it takes 45 minutes to even get to a WalMart. Or an HEB for groceries.
I do get Kroger delivery. I’m not sure how or why. There are no Kroger’s within 200 miles of here, but they have an excellent app which allows for 2 day delivery of most any food item.
I think HEB (biggest grocery chain in Texas) is trying to play catch up.
