Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The Washington State Patrol said a stretch of road was closed for several hours when an overturned truck covered the roadway in fuel -- and potatoes.
WSP District 6 said on social media that the truck overturned on State Road 262 in the area of mile marker 17, near the O'Sullivan Dam in Grant County.
No one was injured in the crash, but the truck spilled its load of potatoes onto the roadway.
The WSP said the road was closed for several hours because the vehicle's fuel also leaked onto the road, causing a safety hazard.
The roadway was fully reopened Tuesday evening.
The drive must have been baked.

POTATUS and Diesel has a nice ring to it.
Joe is mourning his fellow potato heads.

The truck was tottering before the turnover.
Someone alert Dan Quayle?
Potholes State Park, Potholes Reservoir...
Oy, talk about a day for some really bad latkes.
Might have been an oil slick as well.
Where’s the gravy train?
Red.
The contract hauler is a friend of mine and hauls rock and heavy equipment for me.
Thankfully never with that driver.
Went to fast through a roundabout and laid the tanker over.
Tanker full or empty?..................
I’ve hauled potatoes. Top heavy,...not so bad. I’ve hauled liquid, now that can really rock and roll.
I’m guessing he got distracted (phone, sleepy, whatever) and realized, for that curve, he was going too fast, and too late to save it. It could have been worse if he had been in the oncoming lane and then laid it over. That guard rail could have flipped it on its top, and the truck would be trash. As it appears, that rig looks quite repairable.
I was told of an incident in Sacramento (many years ago) when a truck loaded with tomatoes for one of the canneries had to slam on its breaks suddenly causing a massive number of tomatoes to fall out onto the freeway. I think that was a lot messier than a bunch of potatoes.
My husband used to talk to a lot of the truckers going over Monteagle Mountain on the radio and they said hanging meat was the worst to flip a truck. It starts swinging in the truck and over they go. I don’t know if they even haul it like that anymore. It’s been a while.
Maybe the driver was fried.
