We’re regret to inform you that Bill Gates is at again, pushing his “fuzzy science.” Gates is now advocating for the removal of 70 million acres of trees to combat “global warming.” Yes, this sounds harebrained, but could there be more to Gates’ agenda than just chopping down trees in the name of lowering carbon dioxide? Many critics who view Gates as a constant schemer with a vision for a New World Order suspect he has an even bigger plan in the works. More on that below.
First, the background from Slay News:
Gates’s organization, Breakthrough Energy, has plowed $6.6 million into the project led by Kodama Systems.
The move will see 70m acres of forests, mostly in the Western United States, cut down.
After the trees have been chopped down, they will be buried. According to the project organizers, “scientists” say “burying trees can reduce global warming.”
Kodama claims that burying the trees will prevent them from allegedly “spewing” carbon back into the air.
The coordinators of the project are choosing to reap the salable carbon offsets by burying the biomass in dry & oxygen-free “earthenvaults.”
Critics point out that the trees targeted for removal won’t be available for home construction. This could make things worse for the already unstable and expensive U.S. housing market and hit the middle class especially hard...

There is no respiration during the day, TexasGator. Your diagram clearly shows it’s what happens in the daytime. WRONG!
Even when that happens at night, it is minimal and the plant growing anything means it is always acting as a net carbon sink. That is how the carbon gets i to the tree to make leaves, branches, and its trunk.
Crud, this is simple science and you don’t know it.
Stop backing the nut job. LOL A great deal of life depends on those decaying trees.
If people were allowed/encouraged to clean out dead trees and underbrush some of the decaying could be alleviated.
Make giant compost piles, DO NOT kill the trees.
All flora and fauna on the earth, are carbon-based life forms.
WTF?!
And what do the tree huggers think about this?
You certainly were in a rush to post that.
Sounds like too much drugs.
Or not enough lithium.
Respiration allows plants and other living things to release the energy stored in the chemical bonds of carbohydrates such as sugars made from carbon dioxide and water during photosynthesis. While a variety of carbohydrates, as well as proteins and lipids, may be broken down in respiration, glucose typically serves as the model molecule for demonstrating the process, which can be expressed as the following chemical formula:
C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6O2 (oxygen) —> 6CO2 (carbon dioxide) + 6H2O (water) + 32 ATP (energy)
“There is no respiration during the day, TexasGator. Your diagram clearly shows it’s what happens in the daytime. WRONG!”
You are incorrect.
I, for one, enjoyed the bizarre surrealism.
Why not?
Those sneaky suckers are apparently trying to suffocate us all.
;D
“Stop backing the nut job. “
Stop making baseless accusations.
“That is how the carbon gets i to the tree to make leaves, branches, and its trunk.”
Yes. Via respiration.
“When I was a kid, we were taught that trees consume CO2 and give off oxygen.
Now we are told the exact opposite is suppose to be true.”
No one is saying the “opposite”. CO2 is broken down by trees via photosynthesis and respiration then converts the glucose into carbon based matter.
Getting rid of trees increases atmospheric CO2 and reduces O2. Win win for the maniacs.
The whole project also denies that living trees soak up tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
If Gates was really worried about CO2, his causes would invest in planting billions or trees around the world, not destroying living trees.
“I wonder if the nut knows animals and insects also use oxygen. The system gas worked for millenia. What makes him think he can improve on perfection?”
That is where our gas and oil comes from. Organic matter trapped underground and only released when we tapped into it.
I like your reply. It needs to be pointed out that the saving grace of the project is the planting of new trees.
Incidentally, you do not need to bury the tree material, you could use it in construction, same idea, the wood stays in the wood phase of the cycle.
To really make this theory work, we need millions of acres of trees being planted and watered. Opps, where do we get the water? and What are we doing covering the growing land with solar cells.
Answer for Gates Et Al: develop nuclear power, use the eletctricity to desalinate salty water, use it to grow more trees. And a side benefit, the nuclear power will also serve to provide the country with clean electrical power without requiring more fossil fuel power plants.
I particularly like the smaller nuclear power plants that might well replace gas/coal fired plants as they age.
Time to pass a noble law.
Respiration only occurs at night, while photosynthesis only occurs with daylight:
