You can run,but you can’t hide!
I had seen Road Warrior for many years before I ever saw MadMax, and it surprised me how different the first move was from the sequel.
The first movie was very low budget.
We loved it in college because a couple of us had Kawasaki KZ 650s & 750 motorcycles.
“Hugh Keays-Byrne”
He also played “Immortan Joe” in “Mad Max: Fury Road”.
Yeah, the first one was supposed to be a society just starting to slip over the edge, and by the time of the “The Road Warrior” it was fully gone.
"The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel. It'd take you ten minutes to hack through it with this [hacksaw]. Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes."
What a great, classic film. Very satisfying to watch Max dish out revenge. There is no mercy.
George Miller put a great deal of thought into how societies collapse. By the time of “The Road Warrior,” the outback has taken over. By the time of “Beyond Thunderdome,” nothing is left.
I liked the whole original movie, and the Fury Road movie.
Which audio track? Original Australian or American accent dubbed?
I meant to say I liked the whole original SERIES…
Mad Max was a good low-budget movie. It’s watchable and innovative for its time. The Road Warrior takes it up a few notches with a bigger budget ($3M versus $350K). I like both, but Road Warrior is better.
