A man waited for his pregnant ex-girlfriend to come back to a safehouse where he stabbed her to death because he thought she would accuse him of domestic violence, which would send him back to prison, according to authorities in Alabama.
The Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said at a press conference that dispatchers received a call shortly after midnight on Saturday about a body found at a fire station, which also serves as a safe house for domestic violence victims. The victim, 37-year-old Treasure Hennessy, was suffering from several stab wounds.
Her boyfriend, Bradley Wayne Stokes, was arrested Saturday afternoon in nearby Columbus, Georgia, and is facing a capital murder charges for Hennessy and the unborn child. Hennessy was 8-weeks pregnant with Stokes’ child, cops say. He also is facing a fleeing and eluding charge after he attempted to evade capture.

I’d say his strategy for avoiding prison was darn good, but not flawless.

The perp doesn’t have the look of a ‘Bradley’.
He looks like a fine upstanding citizen.
Knew a woman who married a POS that murdered a girl that he dated a few times and broke it off.
2nd murder, in PA, then was 15-20.
The second woman married him and suffered the consequences.
He pimped her out as a hooker and stripper.
Eventually, threw a bucket of acid in her face and gouged her eye out with his thumb.
He’s still in prison AFAIK, but she died of cancer, I just heard.

Russell County is a hellhole, at least in the eastern end of the county (Phenix City, “the wickedest little city in America”, is the county seat. Right across the Chattahoochee from Columbus GA.) And my father’s father’s family are all from there. They all moved to Rome GA. Guess they were right.

I wish they gave the Alabama location where this took place. I am going to assume Phenix City. A very small city with some rough edges and a surprisingly good Italian restaurant. Used to be quite organized crime portal.
How sad. Seems like she had good reason to file domestic violence charges. He proved that with this killing.
