Iranian weightlifter Mustafa Rajaei was banned from participating in any sports event after he shook the hand of his Israeli competitor, Maksim Svirsky, at a World Masters championship in Poland, Iran's Weightlifting Federation announced on Wednesday.
"The Weightlifting Federation strongly condemns the action of the veteran weightlifter of the Iranian team during the World Veteran Championship, which is against the ideals of the Islamic Republic of Iran,"...

Thought this would be a funny gag. (I used to have this as a boy.)
Israel should send Iran a GLOWING response!
Most Iranians are friendly, easy-going, and lovely people. The mullah's days are absolutely numbered and they know it.
Ironically, right now the Christian underground Church is growing strong in Iran also.
“ideals of the Islamic “

Google translate is so much fun.
No No No... I’m pretty sure that this racism is the fault of white people.
They’re “Aryans,” dontcha know. They may be on the short side, brown-ish and with the almond eyes of the Mongols, but they are Aryans. Hitler said so, and they even changed the name of their country to Iran, so it must be true./sarc
Silly me...
The mullahs are phony holy men.
(In all seriousness, I wish I had taken a picture with those two guys, and got autographs.)
They are a little people, a silly people, greedy, barbarous and cruel.
I did Nazi that coming.
The fact is that Aryans are exclusively Indo Iranians. Germans weren’t and aren’t Aryans.
The term Arya or noble originates in the indo Iranian branch of indo European and was used exclusively to refer to themselves as such. They were fair but eith black hair and eyes.
Iran has called itself Aryastan since at least 500 BC, well before tye Nordics split from the Celts.
Nazis demanded to know if ‘The Hobbit’ author was Jewish. He responded with a high-class burn.
In 1938, English author J. R. R. Tolkien and his British publisher, Stanley Unwin, opened talks with Rütten & Loening, a Berlin-based publishing house, about a German translation of his recently-published hit novel, “The Hobbit.”
Privately, according to “1937 The Hobbit or There and Back Again,” Tolkien told Unwin he hated Nazi “race-doctrine” as “wholly pernicious and unscientific.” He added he had many Jewish friends and was considering abandoning the idea of a German translation altogether.
The Berlin-based publishing house sent Tolkien a letter asking for proof of his Aryan descent. Tolkien was incensed by the request and gave his publisher two responses, one in which he sidestepped the question, another in which he clapped back ‘30s-style with pure class.
His publisher sent the classy clap-back.
Here is the letter
Thank you for your letter. I regret that I am not clear as to what you intend by arisch. I am not of Aryan extraction: that is Indo-Iranian; as far as I am aware none of my ancestors spoke Hindustani, Persian, Gypsy, or any related dialects. But if I am to understand that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin, I can only reply that I regret that I appear to have no ancestors of that gifted people.
My great-great-grandfather came to England in the eighteenth century from Germany: the main part of my descent is therefore purely English, and I am an English subject — which should be sufficient. I have been accustomed, nonetheless, to regard my German name with pride, and continued to do so throughout the period of the late regrettable war, in which I served in the English army. I cannot, however, forbear to comment that if impertinent and irrelevant inquiries of this sort are to become the rule in matters of literature, then the time is not far distant when a German name will no longer be a source of pride.
Your enquiry is doubtless made in order to comply with the laws of your own country, but that this should be held to apply to the subjects of another state would be improper, even if it had (as it has not) any bearing whatsoever on the merits of my work or its sustainability for publication, of which you appear to have satisfied yourselves without reference to my Abstammung.
I trust you will find this reply satisfactory, and
remain yours faithfully,
J. R. R. Tolkien
In the Book of Esther they are called Pras uMaday, Persia and Media. Whatever. The whole Aryan thing is a myth, regardless of what the Persians were calling themselves in 500 BC. Vikings were sometimes red-headed and fair-skinned, like the Irish before Saint Patrick got to them, and sometimes thick-lipped and big-boned, like the Russians sometimes still are, and sometimes fair-haired and tall like the Swedes, all of whom used to Vike around a lot. Nothing special about that bunch, except looting, plundering and raping. Then they turned to commerce, which wasn’t quite as much fun, and then they became Christians. That’s the “Aryan race” that Hitler got a woody about, the blondies from Sweden. If the Persians happen to be the only true scions of this mythical race, the joke’s on him.
