Desantis doesn’t belong with the other 2.
He has a proven conservative track record as Governor.
I feel most Desantis haters here are motivated because they see him as betraying Trump by running against him, the rest is angry talk.
Yeah I vaguely remember that guy. He was the laughing stock on FR when he made noises about running in 2012. Imagine a New York City liberal running for GOP nomination. LOL
Living in NYC and voting for a Dem does not make you a Democrat.
Great link! Thanks for posting.
I too like Vivek as a possible veep. (your tagline)
If for no other reason than to see only Trumper heads explode if/when Trump picks him.
I can’t tell you how many FReepers have said they won’t support Trump if he picks Vivek.
I ain’t buying whatever he’s selling.
Thank you - Conservatives are more enthusiastic about eating their own then they are going after the Dems.
We need more purity tests, not what sounds good. The majority of Supreme Court Justices appointed by Republicans have voted liberal.
Maybe people change and that’s good, but keep your “change” out of the White House.
Trump’s Pro America stances have not changed. He has been consistent with that for over 39 years and it is well documented.
We've been backstabbed by phony conservatives so many times that a new convert is hard to trust.
Wasn’t he 18 years old then?
I’m glad I didn’t have cameras around me at 18.
Or 30 for that matter…
Demographics is destiny. There will never be a mostly conservative POTUS ever again.
DeSantis has got all the wrong pals. He is favored by the vast majority of Republican deep staters.
RamiPastromi is very quick witted and talks an extremely good game, but can he be trusted? Is he a wolf in sheep clothing? I trust him more than the proven liars.
President Trump trusts the wrong people a lot of the time, but my guess is that he has learned a lot from his recent experiences. He definitely has all the right enemies. So, he is the safest and best bet.
Donald Trump was a Democrat in 2004.
He's a suddenly Republican running for POTUS but hasn't address his political conversion at least in any interview I've seen.
Reagan was an ex-Dem, Trump was both Dem & independent but those were men who had been around awhile. Vivek is still on a political journey if we accept him at face value. He's not ready to deal with China invading Taiwan or some of the other things that could be on the horizon. His trade policy, wanting to get back into TPP, is horrible.
People are still trying to make GOPe darling DeSantis happen?
I have wondered about how people on Free Republic will react to Trump’s running mate.
Since just about all nationally known Republicans, including all declared presidential candidates, are disliked on Free Republic, it makes me wonder who Trump can choose, who would be acceptable to most Freepers.
And if some people really will not vote for Trump if he has an unacceptable running mate, then they are choosing four more years of Biden.
Trump was a democrat and I can easily imagine him saying the same thing 30 years ago.
Despite the woke crap or likely because of it... Generation Z, just now reaching adulthood are more conservative than the Baby Boomers and the other generations since the baby boomers.
Here is an explanation explaining the terminology of various generations...
“Baby Boomers: Baby boomers were born between 1946 and 1964. They're currently between 57-75 years old (71.6 million in the U.S.)
Gen X: Gen X was born between 1965 and 1979/80 and is currently between 41-56 years old (65.2 million people in the U.S.)
Gen Y: Gen Y, or Millennials, were born between 1981 and 1994/6. They are currently between 25 and 40 years old (72.1 million in the U.S.)
Gen Y.1 = 25-29 years old (around 31 million people in the U.S.)
Gen Y.2 = 29-39 (around 42 million people in the U.S.)
Gen Z: Gen Z is the newest generation, born between 1997 and 2012. They are currently between 9 and 24 years old (nearly 68 million in the U.S.)
Gen A: Generation Alpha starts with children born in 2012 and will continue at least through 2025, maybe later (approximately 48 million people in the U.S.)
The Soros scholarship was not from George Soros. It was from George’s brother and sister-in-law. Ramaswamy never met any of the Soros’. Put yourself in his shoes. You’re college age, not very political and you want money for your education. Do you really care where the money comes from? Say your son is an a ultra-right wing MAGA conservative and you need money for his education. Wouldn’t it be great for your conservative son to take the money from Soros so some leftist doesn’t get it?
Ramaswamy’s education money from years ago is mutually exclusive from his political beliefs today. It is weak and lazy thinking to believe it is anything different.
As for this registering Republican business. He’s registered now. Trump was formerly a Democrat. Reagan was formerly a Democrat. Big eff’n deal.
Listen to what Ramaswamy says instead of posting crap from a nobody on Twitter. Ramaswamy has tons of videos on YouTube - campaign speeches, long form interviews and more. The information is easily accessible. You may not like the man, if fact I am still uncertain, but you may like his ideas. One thing is for certain. I am voting for Trump. I have also adopted and even gone as far as refining some of Ramaswamy’s policy ideas.
Ramaswamy is only a threat to the other single digit midgets on the debate stage last week. Grow a set and actually listen to the guy; and not from some half-assed debate.
You could say the same about Trump. Trump was a Democrat in 2004. He had Bill and Hillary at his wedding the next year, and spent Christmas eve with George Soros a few years later.
Do a little googling...Trump said it...I only repeated it..
