I have no problem with this as long as it’s voluntary.
Proving once again the illiteracy and basic laziness of journalists. A properly done vasectomy removes an approximately 1/2 inch section of the vas deferens and cauterizes the ends. It doesn't just block the tube.
And, to the point that it isn't easily reversible, think about how difficult it would be to rejoin a tube that is now shortened and perhaps a millimeter in diameter, with an opening smaller than that, and get it right so that sperm cells can get through.

If you can’t nor won’t raise a child you produced then you should be sterilized. BOTH parties. Children are about a lot more than sex. I’m a grandfather and great uncle. I like kids and the challenges they provide as well as the richness they add to your life.
This is the free choice of an individual, as long as they are only doing adults. Not the same as killing an innocent human being.
