I’ve watched Picnic a dozen times. I love everything about it, the story, the actors, the music, the setting. The film brings to life a far better America than the one that exists today. Picnic is a virtual time capsule.
The dance scene between Novak and Holden remains one of the most romantic and erotic scenes in film history, backed by an outstanding musical performance of “Moonglow.”. The film is a treasure.
One of the best movies and storylines ever produced, acted, and/or written. The sexual tension, clash of cultures, and undercurrent of violence are so thick you can cut ‘em with a knife.
