WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - A West Richland woman could face the death penalty in Florida after being accused of murdering her ex-husband, a former Microsoft executive.
Shanna Gardner-Fernandez was taken into custody Thursday morning, Aug. 17 at her home on Laurel Drive by ATF agents from Yakima and Jacksonville and later booked into the Benton County Jail for her alleged role in the February 2022 murder of Jared Bridegan in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Authorities say Bridegan was shot several times on a one-way road while heading home. The man accused of shooting him has since been arrested.
Mario Fernandez Saldana was arrested in March on charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, child abuse, and solicitation to commit a capital felony. Fernandez Saldana is the current husband of Gardner-Fernandez. Henry Tenon, 61, was arrested in January in connection to Bridegan’s murder. He was arrested in January on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, accessory after the fact to a capital felony, child abuse, and second-degree murder
Police say that leading up to the murder, Bridegan was leaving Gardner-Fernandez's Florida home when reports say on the way back to his home, Bridegan was getting out of his car to move a tire that was purposely placed to make him stop when he was shot in front of his daughter. While Bridegan's family had always maintained Shanna was involved somehow, the Florida state attorney says she will now seek the death penalty.
"This investigation has uncovered the truth of Jared's murder. Henry Tenon did not act alone. Mario Fernandez did not plan alone and Shanna Gardner's indictment acknowledges her central and key role in the cold calculated and premeditated murder of Jared Bridegan," said Melissa Nelson, a Florida state attorney during a press conference this morning in Duval County stating that Gardner-Fernandez has been apprehended.
Family members of Jared Bridegan, including his wife at the time he was killed, spoke through tears about the new development in the investigation.
"From very early on, everything in my soul and body told me she was behind it," said Kristen Bridegan, Jared Bridegan's widow.
I always avoid freaks with tattoos
She is so far above the crazy line of the hot crazy matrix that it doesn’t even register, she didn’t just key your car and get you arrested l, she got you murdered
Who falls for that gag in Florida? Haitian refugees used to lay in the road to rob good Samaritans.
That looks like the deadly white marshmallow snake coming out of her cup but it doesn’t look half as dangerous as she does.
I heard about this on the radio this morning. I heard West Richland, WA woman wanted for murdering her husband could get the “death penalty”. I am going WHAT! there is no death penalty in WA. I know because I live here.
So thank you for for posting this so I was able to get the full story.
It is hard to keep up with hyphenated names when there are divorces and re-marriages.
I bet she didn’t have that tatoo when she was married the first time.
