They’re a cross between a coyote and a wolf

Someone did that on purpose?

I’ve only heard about them as seen individually. Packs of these critters would be very threatening.

They had a wild side to them, so I hear.

In Texas, if it is unidentifiable, it must be a wild hog.

How many times do you reckon this will have to be posted before someone can identify the thing?

Thanks.

There used to be a Coastal Wolf in Oregon, supposedly went extinct in 1913 (?). A trapper told me he had seen foot prints he thought were Coastal Wolf and reported same to Oregon Fish & Wildlife. They dissmissed it outright, but I believe him. I think I may have seen one N. Tillamook Co. in 1969.

We also have hybrid coyote/dog. I saw one trying to coax a neighbor’s dogs into an ambush of coyotes.

Not sure but the tail looks a bit short. Even though it has a dark tip the tail looks too short, from 1/3 to half the length of the cat.

“We also have hybrid coyote/dog. I saw one trying to coax a neighbor’s dogs into an ambush of coyotes.”

About 2 decades ago a group of coyotes coaxed and lured city dogs to jump over a stone fence then the rest of the pack killed or wounded the city dogs.

A neighbor bred Russian Wolf hounds and another wolf killer breed. So he took them on a walk to where the coyotes

After one fatal entanglement of several coyotes being killed or seriously wounded by the wolf hounds, the pack of coyotes left our area.

Oregon fish and game guys are good guys. However, they seemed a little slow or reticent to identify Coy wolves and other critters.
