his has been a major “oops” that EV companies are discovering—most of their “woke” target audience does not have access to home charging.

The G will force by law the apartments, townhouse communities, or homes without inside electrical outlets to install these at their expense. The G always has a solution.
I wonder if the Bidet will have a comment on that if asked.

Once the EV owner finally gets to a charging station, he/she better hope that they have sufficient score to buy the juice. Last week's junk food purchases might have enough demerits to make the charge not available.

Agreed. Unfortunately I can see that kind of limitation with buying other forms of energy too.

Amazon is now running Rivian delivery vans.

Get used to slower deliveries.

Well… it’s a real life test… that’s how you figure out the boundaries and limits of operation.

Some here would laugh at that reference to “sufficient score”, but I surely won’t.

When they have successfully implemented their digital currency...our country will be gone. No questions asked.

They don’t want you to use energy? They will simply prohibit you from paying for it. You won’t be able to go to a hotel. Won’t be able to buy gas or electricity, or even purchase food.

It is what the ChiComs do.

At that point, our country will be gone.

I have a 2009 Tacoma. Great little truck. Simple (crank windows and no remote entry) and reliable. No continuous link to the mothership, either. This may well be my last vehicle. There is a very good reason it is the preferred vehicle of ISIS.

“homes without inside electrical outlets”

I suppose that is part of their grand plan, too.

This makes road trips take extremely long. It is doubtful that you could completely charge your car during a meal or rest stop. Goodbye, 600+ mile per day road trips.

It depends. Yes, I wouldn't bother with a road trip in the EV pickups because they are horribly inefficient. But my wife I and I have done multiple road trips in our EV car totaling more than 1,200 miles round trip. Our charging stops last 10-15 minutes (unless we're taking longer doing something else anyway, then we'll charge the car to the full 100% which can take 45 minutes because charging past 80% is slower). And even when we drove on trips in an ICE car, my wife always asks to stop every 200 miles to walk around for 10-15 minutes anyway. So having an EV car works for us. But we also have an ICE pickup in part for in case we decide to drive on a really long road trip through parts of the west U.S. that have few fast chargers. The same for if we're silly enough to make a road trip into the northeast in the winter. (The northeast has plenty of fast chargers, but EV's work horrible in the cold. Which isn't a problem for the winter trips we've taken in the southeast since we got the EV.)

They use USPS here.

Can’t get much slower unless they stop altogether...................

“It’s only purpose as I can tell is to be a status symbol for saving the world from fake warmageddon while also pretending other people see you as a real man able to pretend to do real man pickup chores.”

except that the ones i see around here NEVER, EVER have a load in their itty-bitty truck beds ... which sort of belies that “real man pickup chore” image ...

I am scolding myself for wasting the time to read the article and learn what I already know.

This is still a primitive technology. Years ago, maybe 1982 or so I attended a demonstration of a Sony built device intended to be an accessory for an IBM Selectric II. it recorded keystrokes on a device that looked like a larger format iPad. It used a mini cassette for the recording medium. Then, for play back, a device called an impeller fit over the typewriter keyboard. Pistons guided by the cassette struck the appropriate keys and a typewritten output was produced. We didn’t buy it.

EVs are at about the same level of technological idiocy.

Not everything put in “quotes” is either correct or worth the time it takes to read or the paper it is printed on. Being merely thought provoking is not always useful or interesting.

Good for you. Seriously. YOU have decided to do this. You are a perfect example of someone who can take advantage of a new technology because your circumstances are right. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE.

Unfortunately for the Socialists, there aren’t enough of you to create enough free market demand for EV’s, so they have to force it on everyone.

I could probably be in your same situation. If I wanted to set up solar generation at my house, I could, but I haven’t. And I’m just stubborn enough to tell the Socialists to kiss my ring finger instead of buying an EV.

Seriously though, good for you. Everyone should be able to choose.

Wow, what a story. Their first diagnosis...
...a 22-hour job that required replacing the entire front wiring harness, which involved dropping the front motors out of the truck.
What the heck???

You buy a $100,000 vehicle and the roadside assistance operator on the phone asks you "is it possible to bum a charge off a sympathetic household in the neighborhood?"
