GENICHESK, August 13. /TASS/. The armed forces of Ukraine are sustaining heavy losses during their so-called counteroffensive and are urgently recruiting residents of Kherson and Nikolayev, the head of the Ukraine-controlled Snigirevka district Yuri Barbashov has told TASS.
"According to information obtained from the opposite [Ukrainian] side, the total losses sustained during the counteroffensive are estimated in private conversations at 48,000 people for the entire frontline," Barbashov said. "The likelihood of surviving at least three days on the frontline is estimated as minimal."

My guess would be around 400K KIA so far, around a million total casualties.
Being told, "Get on the truck or die", is not the same as recruiting.
It's a trap!
I’d fit in with that group!

They may have to remove that - may need to repost that without a Getty image (I try to avoid them but sometimes it can be buried in the link and not stamped on the image)
“My guess would be around 400K KIA so far, around a million total casualties.”
I think you are underestimating Ukrainian losses. It is closer to 132 thousand million billion. And there are 1 thousand million more dead on your side,
Going to TASS for a fair coverage of this genocidal war is like going to CNN to find truth about President Trump.
Going to FOX or CNN is no more reliable. Going to the administration is least reliable of all. As I stated, I don’t trust anyone’s disinfo. That’s why I asked for “Freeper’s considered opinions”. I’ll put you in the “don’t do considered opinions” category.
I’d venture to say that anything coming out of Tass is as heavily propagandized as is anything coming from Kiev or our own mainstream media. Without third party reporting, such as with embedded reporters at the front, there is no way of telling what the truth is. And for darn certain the daily propaganda threads here at FR by the warmongers is not the truth. Simply seeing Russia misspelled as Ruzzia ticks me off.
Given the monetary, material and human resources of both Russia and Ukraine I’d say Russia has a clear advantage and the death tolls of the Ukes has got to be tremendous. It’s quite likely they are as desperate as their Nazi forefathers of WWII Germany for manpower.
Recruiting. LOL.
get in the truck, or get shot on the spot.
gotcha
Recruiting = forced at the point of gun to enlist and then sent to the frontlines to die.
It is true that Russian propagandists in particular wildly overstate the size of battles. In one recent example posters here on Free Republic claimed that 3,000 Ukrainians had been killed in the assault. In reality the attack consisted of about 200 Ukrainian soldiers, with probably a few deaths and a small number of injuries.
The war in Ukraine is far more violent than most recent wars where a major military force fights against insurgents or a very weak adversary. In Ukraine the battles are much more dangerous, particularly with the widespread use of drones for surveillance.
Neither side wants to publish loss information because that is obviously useful to the other side. But those who say that Ukrainian military casualties exceed Russian military casualties are incorrect.
Where did you obtain those numbers?
Lots of data at various web sites. Click the above for some.
Yeah
