Ukrainians FINALLY ENTER THE CENTER OF BAKHMUT! Russian DEFENSE PENETRATED

Today, we are getting very pleasing results from the front.
The Ukrainian armed forces continue counterattack operations in three directions of the front line and advance in some areas. Berdyansk, Melitopol and Bakhmut are at the center of the attacks of the Ukrainian forces. Where the Ukrainian troops firmly join the Donetsk region with Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainians are gradually advancing south from the town of Velyka Novosilka.

Late last week, Ukrainian armed forces captured Staromaiorske less than eight kilometers from their starting position in June. However, the Russians continue their efforts to retake this region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, yesterday Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to retake lost positions west of Staromaiorske.

The third move of the Ukrainian counteroffensive is concentrated in the western Zaporizhzhia region on the left bank of the Dnipro. Here the Ukrainians are trying to cross the south of the Orikhiv settlement and have now reached the village of Robotyne, about fifteen kilometers away.
According to the Ukrainian army high command, the Russians are experiencing significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment.

General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational group, reported that his troops had destroyed twenty-two pieces of Russian military equipment on his battlefield in the past twenty-four hours. In these directions, the Kiev troops continue their offensive operations, while the troops are advancing in several directions at the same time south of Bakhmut. Ukraine retakes the hills on the flanks close to the plains of Bakhmut and advances on the southern highlands as far as Horlivka.

Ukrainian forces currently hold very important positions near the villages of Andriivka, Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka and are engaged in intense fighting for control of hills and roads. As the Ukrainian troops advanced further to the east, the Russian army was forced to retreat from the fortified defensive positions south of Andriivka. Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman for Ukraine’s eastern army, said that liberating Andriivka would improve its tactical position while trying to encircle Russian troops in Bakhmut.

Yesterday, Ukrainian brigades entered the center of Bakmut directly and defeated the Russians. The offensive of the Ukrainian brigades was very strong. Together with the seventy-seventh separate air assault and the twenty-second separate mechanized brigade, the three assault brigades, aka the Azov Regiment, completely penetrated the Russian positions in Bakhmut.

In the past days, Bakhmut has been operationally surrounded by the progenitor units. Now they have launched a very effective attack on the center of Bakhmut with the support of air strikes and armored brigades. The Ukrainian army confirmed the positive dynamics of the advance of the brigades in the direction of Bakhmut. A Ukrainian army fighter, commonly known by the nickname “Bakhmut Demon”, reported on his Telegram channel that the Seventy-seventh separate air strike and the twenty-second separate mechanized brigades crushed Russian units and destroyed the equipment and personnel of the invaders.

While the rate of advance is slow due to the minefields and difficult terrain, as well as enemy artillery fire, it can only prove that the Russian army will not be able to stop the Ukrainian offensive and will only reduce the rate of advance. The Ukrainian fighter also noted that some Ukrainian units had entered the territory of Bakhmut, capturing Russian military spoils. After 2 months of long fighting, Ukrainian forces entered Bakhmut directly and the Russians were forced to abandon their positions and flee.

This success of the Ukrainian forces was quite remarkable as it coincided with the anniversary of the Battle of Bakhmut.
Once the Ukrainian army crosses the second line of defense on the Zaporizhzhia front, Russia will have nothing to close the gaps on the front line. He will have to leave the captured territories. Only then will Bakhmut be liberated.

So what happened in Bakhmut, the castle of the east, in this one-year period? Before the large-scale invasion, about seventy thousand people lived in Bakhmut. Today the city is nothing but burnt ruins controlled by the Russian army.

The first attacks on the city began on May two thousand and twenty-two, but August 1, two thousand twenty-two became a purely nominal date for the start of active hostilities in Bakhmut. Pro-Ukrainian hackers have broken into the website of the Moscow Technical Inventory Bureau, which contains data on real estate and its owners in Moscow and the Moscow Oblast. All the data stolen from the Russians has been transferred to the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

“Information about civil servants, politicians, military personnel and representatives of special services who support the war with Ukraine has been transferred to the Defence Forces of Ukraine,” the hackers said on their website.

The message about hacking the site appeared on 7 August at 9:20 (Kyiv time), and the consequences of the attack still have not been eliminated.

The Moscow Technical Inventory Bureau is a state organization that contains information about real estate and buildings in the city. In particular, building plans, technical data sheets, wear Information, communication information, and other documents.

A message on the website says the sudo rm -RF group is responsible for the attack.

UPDATE: Sources of Ekonomichna Pravda say that specialists from the Security Service of Ukraine may be involved in hacking the site and internal IT infrastructure of the Moscow City Bureau of Technical Inventory.

After the hack, the entire data array was downloaded and then destroyed. Currently, the Security Service of Ukraine is working with information on the property of Moscow-based politicians, civil servants and servicemen. The humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine is rapidly turning into a human trafficking one in which women and children, who make up the majority of the refugees fleeing the war, are being exploited, according to the United Nations Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten. She said there is an urgent need for a “coordinated regional approach” to what she described as “a crisis within a crisis.”

Patten spoke at an event at USIP on June 6. The event was part of a series of high-level discussions being convened by the Institute on “holding perpetrators accountable for crimes against humanity and for violations of humanitarian and human rights during the conflict in Ukraine,” said USIP President and CEO Lise Grande.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 in an unprovoked act of aggression. Almost seven million Ukrainians have fled their country since the start of the war, 4.7 million of which are scattered around Europe, according to the United Nations. The war, meanwhile, is now mostly concentrated in the eastern part of Ukraine.
Rape As a Weapon of War

Russian troops are reportedly using sexual violence as a weapon of war in Ukraine. “We have all seen the harrowing images of this conflict, of the bodies of women and girls strewn naked in the streets, and of women and children killed while trying to flee to safety,” Patten said. “We have all heard the accounts of horrific acts of sexual violence, reports of gang rape, rape in front of family members, sexual assault at gunpoint, women who have become pregnant as a result of rape, as well as reports of refugee women and children being exploited by traffickers and predators who view this turmoil not as a tragedy, but as an opportunity to abuse the vulnerable.”

The ongoing conflict between Ukrainian soldiers and Russian forces has captured media attention. However, Ukraine is silently grappling with another formidable adversary: human trafficking. The large numbers of refugees resulting from the Russian invasion has created fertile ground for this abhorrent trade to flourish.

With approximately eight million Ukrainians enduring displacement, many find themselves in unfamiliar territories, unable to communicate and lacking the means to secure basic necessities such as food and shelter. By exploiting these circumstances of vulnerability, human traffickers have found displaced individuals easy prey.

Julie Probus-Schad, a licensed clinical social worker and the Director of Trauma Assistance Program International, has witnessed firsthand how Ukraine has become a hub for human trafficking. Organized crime syndicates have seized the opportunity presented by the ongoing conflict, and their return on investment for trafficking is alarmingly favorable.

HUMAN BEINGS A COMMODITIES

While the term “return on investment” may seem callous when applied to human lives, Probus-Schad explains that while most of us value individuals as unique and irreplaceable, criminal networks perceive them as commodities to be bought and sold. Given the large influx of refugees during the war and the ease with which trafficked individuals can be transported to other countries, Ukrainian women have become prime targets for sex trafficking. Tragically, they yield an enticing return on investment for the criminals involved.

MAGNITUDE OF THE ISSUE

While it is impossible to know the exact number of Ukrainians who have fallen victim to human trafficking, experts from the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe say that the estimate of 5,000,000 trafficked individuals is a number that can be seriously considered. Regardless of the precise figure, the suffering and trauma inflicted upon the victims is large-scale.
Addressing the Hidden Consequences

People of good will throughout the world need to confront and assist Ukraine in combating this lesser-recognized consequence of the war. Julie Probus-Schad’s extensive experience as a licensed clinical social worker specializing in human trafficking equips her with the expertise to tackle the issue. Via remote sessions conducted over platforms like Zoom, she imparts her knowledge to social workers in Latvia and Ukraine’s other nearby countries, teaching them a first-aid approach to assisting survivors of trafficking.

Probus-Schad’s intervention primarily focuses on assisting individuals in coping with acute distress disorder and PTSD, which often persists even after victims escape their trafficking ordeal. She explains that traumatic experiences can trigger a prolonged activation of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, which continue to flood the survivor’s system long after the trauma has ended.

COPING MECHANISMS

Trauma can cause individuals to be frozen in a defensive fight, flight, or freeze response or a response of submission. In such a frozen state, victims find it challenging to access higher-order coping skills that could aid their recovery. The traumatized person’s defensive alarm system remains hyperactivated, resulting in chronic exhaustion and debilitating symptoms, which can include anxiety, depression, dissociation, emotional numbness, fear, and helplessness, and can prompt substance abuse.

CALMING THERAPY

Probus-Schad employs bilateral rhythmic tapping therapy as a first-aid type of intervention. Its primary goal is to help create calmness, enabling survivors to access their higher-order coping mechanisms.

During the therapy, the survivor is asked to imitate Probus-Schad’s tapping gestures to create a soothing effect. When working with a new client suffering from acute post-traumatic stress, Probus-Schad follows and teaches the following steps:

-Building rapport: In a war zone, this needs to happen more quickly than usual because, given the ongoing number of people needing help, a therapist or other health care professional is likely to have a shorter time with the trafficking survivor.

-Learning about the client’s current state: Individuals are asked to give an outline of the traumatic experience. Instead of reliving the traumatizing events, the therapist asks the survivor to provide a brief outline of what they have been through, allowing them to avoid retraumatization.

-Explaining tapping and setting expectations: The therapist explains what the survivor can anticipate from the tapping process. The tapping rhythm effectively diminishes excessive anxiety, helping the survivor reconnect with their pre-trauma world and discharge moments of terror from their overall life experience.

-Redirecting thoughts to moments of calm: While in a relaxed state during the tapping, the survivor is encouraged to recall moments of peace and tranquility. As they tap their fingers, the survivor is guided to redirect their thoughts to those peaceful instances.

-Drawing strength from internal and external sources: Throughout the therapy session, Probus-Schad prompts survivors to tap into additional sources of strength, such as envisioning wise, nurturing, or protective figures.

-By the end of one or several sessions, survivors of trafficking generally experience increased relaxation and are no longer operating solely in survival mode. With improved access to their pre-existing coping skills, they are better equipped to navigate the challenges of recovery.

EXTENDING PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

Probus-Schad is acutely aware of the dire need for psychological support in Ukraine. She actively seeks professionals interested in contributing their skills and aims to connect them with programs that match their needed expertise.

While the media predominantly covers the battles between Ukrainian soldiers and Russian forces, the alarming issue of human trafficking has emerged as another consequential battle in Ukraine. With millions of displaced Ukrainians falling prey to human traffickers, urgent attention and concerted efforts are required to address this hidden crisis. By working cooperatively, the global community can provide the necessary support to trafficking survivors.

Your warfare stories still don’t explain the Ukies failed offensive, called the bigger picture.

Since the break up of the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact Russia has only passed one law that criminalizes human trafficking but it does nothing other than label human trafficking as being illegal.

While countries such as Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, etc has passed a hundred or more laws that not only goes after the traffickers, but protects the victims.

In Russia the victims have no legal protections.
