Donald Trump says Dems ‘have something’ on old foe Mitch McConnell

Former President Donald Trump said he thinks that Democrats “have something” on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and blamed him for not doing enough to fight back against purported “election interference” after he was slapped with another federal indictment this week.

Trump, the leading GOP presidential candidate, has repeatedly claimed the trio of indictments he’s been handed since March are attempts by the Justice Department to interfere in the 2024 presidential election

Trump told the crowd at the South Carolina Republican Party’s 56th Annual Silver Elephant Gala on Saturday night that McConnell (R-Ky.) and other Republican senators need to step up their fight against the DOJ

It took him this long to realize this?
I sure hope he realizes that both parties are working together to never allow an outsider to ever be President.

Good post.

GOP voters are a gullible lot. How else can the repeated failures and epic weakness of the party be explained? The party’s voters keep returning the same backstabbers to office to do the same thing to them again and again.

An outsider is bad for business and they might start asking questions and expecting accountability. Can’t have that now, can we. All that matters to the DC crowd is maintaining the status quo.

Exactly right. When people say that someone acts the way they do because someone has something on them, it lets them off the hook and gives them as excuse, when in fact, as you say, that is just what the person is — a Rino, a democrat, a leftist etc — anything but a conservative.

Yeah... that sounds like it. Sometimes I wonder if it is actually true.

So, you are unaware of the Irish adopted children Roberts acquired through Jeff Epstein and a Guatemala “connection” I gather.

Trump needs to focus on the damn country or get out of the race.

All this sh!t talking means nothing. He's become lazy & resting on his laurels. He's like a star player who should've retired with dignity because he doesn't quite have it any more.

It's so tiresome. Voters need something to vote for because they've shown they'll surely vote against him (2020) & his proxies (2022).

“Trump needs to focus on the damn country or get out of the race.”

He has a tendency to give long speeches, which he does quite often, and he never ceases talking about the county.

Where do you people come from? And I use to think people with their head three feet up their ass had reached the limit in depth, but maybe not.

Former President Donald Trump said he thinks that Democrats “have something” on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell

Is that why they let McConnell hold Scalia's seat open?

Get real.

McConnell ever allowed the Senate to recess so Trump couldn’t make ANY recess appointments.

Lisa Murkowski locked in nine pro-forma sessions during the August '17 recess, a move that required the consent of EVERY senator.

“We’re not going back to people that want to destroy our great social security system, even some in our own party, I wonder who that might be, that want to raise the minimum age of social security to 70, 75, or even 80 in some cases. And that are out to cut Medicare to a level that it will no longer be recognizable. And when that was their original thought, that’s what they always come back to. Remember that. You have to remember that. You heard it here first. We are never going back to a party that wants to give unlimited money to fight foreign wars that are endless wars, that are stupid wars. But at the same time, demands that we cut veterans benefits and retirement benefits at home.”

“Our soldiers will no longer live in the streets of our city. We have cities where our soldiers, our great soldiers, are living on concrete, they’re living on asphalt. We will take care of our soldiers. There has never been a time like this. Illegal immigrants come in and we house them in the Waldorf Astoria and many other of the greatest hotels anywhere in the world. But our soldiers, we do nothing for them. They sleep out at night and they freeze. They freeze in the cold and they die in the heat, while people that came into our country illegally are in beautiful hotel suites, perhaps watching us on television right now. We were taking care of our soldiers just a short while ago, but we don’t do that anymore. But we’ll start doing it again. Our soldiers are very special to us. When a wonderful town in Ohio has difficulty, we are going to take care of that town, that city, that village prior to worrying about the rest of the world.”

Nah. McConnell is just old guard Republican. In the 60s, 70s and 80s, Republicans were not that different from Dems. McConnell is a holdover.

“Our trade deficits were five, six, $700 billion a year. A billion, think of it, dollars a year. Not sustainable by any country. They built their military and they have a very powerful military with the money that we gave them. How stupid are we? I was the only president in modern history who did not have any new wars, no new wars. I finished some old ones. I finished some old ones. Remember when the Democrats and my Republican opponents would often look at me during the debates or whatever and they’d say, “No, no. He’s going to bring us into World War III because it’s a personality type.” They said I had the personality. No, I had the personality type that kept us out of wars because people knew that they weren’t going to mess around with us.”
