Former President Donald Trump said he thinks that Democrats “have something” on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and blamed him for not doing enough to fight back against purported “election interference” after he was slapped with another federal indictment this week.
Trump, the leading GOP presidential candidate, has repeatedly claimed the trio of indictments he’s been handed since March are attempts by the Justice Department to interfere in the 2024 presidential election
Trump told the crowd at the South Carolina Republican Party’s 56th Annual Silver Elephant Gala on Saturday night that McConnell (R-Ky.) and other Republican senators need to step up their fight against the DOJ

Like, he swore his allegiance to them years ago?
Ahh a no sh*t Sherlock moment of many.
They’ve got something on EVERY Republican. That’s why the mainstream “media” is overstocked with dumpster divers and it take four of them to write one of their smears for the “media”. They spend all their time looking for trash and garbage to smear on Americans. The JaySix Program was developed to get those Americans who they couldn’t find anything on. You know, Veterans and Patriots.
The Dems may well have something on him, but then again the Repukes are so weak and pliable the Dems usually don’t have to resort to that kind of tactic to get what they want.
I have a friend that was an enforcer for the Kentucky Cornbread mafia.
He swears he would accompany his boss to Mitch’s office to hand over briefcases of cash on a regular basis to make calls to law enforcement to get them to back off prosecutions of members.
This is a favorite refrain among conservatives - we can’t believe that some Republicans really choose not to be as conservative as we are, so they must be under some threat of blackmail. John Roberts is being blackmailed, Mitch McConnell is being blackmailed, Mike Pence is being blackmailed - it’s ridiculous. This is just who these people are - they are CINOs. Conservative In Name Only.
So Trump joins the Imaginary GOP crowd, where the only explanation for a Republican backing the Deep State is blackmail, bribery, or extortion.
Face the truth - Republicans or Democrats, they are involved in a joint enterprise which commands their loyalty because they are true believers.
Anything to do with the Chinese Spy he married ?
They’ve got something on EVERY Republican”
Nonsense.
Republicans do what they do because they believe in it. Only their voters are stupid enough to think they are telling the truth at election time, and then somehow get “turned”. They don’t need turning - they are on board already.
Remember when Hillary had 900 FBI files in her possession?
The dims and the FBI are on the same team here.
Wonder how many FBI files obama has.
Of course! They also have crap on every other GOPe POS. People don’t behave poorly in a vacuum.
I think McConnell was behind a lot of the bad personnel choices Trump made. No one could be confirmed in the Senate without his ok. I assume McConnell would give Trump a list of people he would allow and Trump had to pick one. And correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think McConnell ever allowed the Senate to recess so Trump couldn’t make ANY recess appointments.
They don’t need to blackmail him. His personal $elf-intere$t has been aligned with Democrats for his entire career.
Early in his first campaign Trump said he knew all the corrupt pols in New York because he wrote the checks. I don’t recall him ever repeating that statement.
Kicked out of the army reserve for homosexuality. According to the story he said it was an eye condition. Sub officer in his unit was quoted as saying “yeah, he couldn’t tell men from women”.
I’m guessing a Hastert problem….
I don’t have a source now but I think it came from the left… something crazy like Mother Jones. I dismissed it back then… but now I’m kinda wondering.
You could scrape all the corrupt politicians, from local small towns to the Senate, off the face of the planet and new ones would instantly take their place.
I don’t think most people appreciate the degree of influence DC has on politicians. Its intoxicating for most politicians. There’s even a name for it: Potomac Fever.
Once there they quickly learn the old DC saw: To get along, go along. That’s where the ‘conversion’ begins.
Most pols live a dual life: one as a representative of the people back home, and another of being a representative for DC interests.
you don’t take a seat in the House or Senate without a control file or a handler somewhere...dangling a carrot or brandishing a stick
the Republican primary is mostly made of controlled -via carrot or stick-candidates..
except Trump
