Two Indian doctors (both cardiologists) lived across the street from me. Best friends, they built their 10,000 sq Ft houses at the same time. They even built their driveways in a way to allow shared parking for their big parties.

Both retired and one moved to Orlando.

A new family that bought the house was also Indian. As soon as they bought it the remaining doctor had the parking pad destroyed.

I asked him a year after the new family moved in if he liked them. He replied basically, “They are not people that I would care to know.”

I asked another Indian doctor what he meant and he replied that it was a caste thing.

Amazing that that system stays intact even here in the US.

I used to know an Indian girl whose family emigrated from India to the UK (where she was born) and then to the US (her Father worked in the UN). She grew up on US soil, went to the best schools and is basically a snobby brat. When she married her husband, he wanted to visit India. She told me about returning to India to appease him and went on to detail how “disgusted” she was having to pass all the “poor, dirty people” on the street as they traversed the City. She also described her own niece (pre-teen) as “ugly” and an embarrassment because of her looks. From my experience, her attitude isn't unusual among Indian women.
