No one ever had to tell people to drink X amount of water when you drank it out of the hose…
Now it’s more expensive than Bud Light…

There are people who are addicted to drinking too much water.

And their lytes are usually in trouble.

I used to see chicks drinking water with lemon wedges all day long.
They must have gone to the bathroom damn near 30 times a day.
I don’t know if the acid from lemons does anything…

Yeah. That came after my time. I drank from the hose growing up.

Wish I could have that time back again.

“Water intoxication is nothing new.”

IIRC, a few years ago there was a radio program that had a contest on who could drink the most amount of water in a certain period of time. The “winner” died. I heard it drown his organs or something, but that probably isn’t the scientific reason.

I ask for a lemon wedge in my water when I’m at a restaurant because I know lemons have a lot of benefit. But I imagine drinking lemon in water all day every day probably isn’t a good idea.

Same.

And each of us kiddos had a plastic cup with our initial on it on a shelf above the kitchen sink that we used in the winter. (We were convinced that kitchen tap was better than bathroom tap. 😄)

How many kiddos?

I am sure the kitchen tap water was better!

Good call. The victim likely had undiagnosed hyponatremia (sodium depletion), probably because of an unrecognized tumor affecting her endocrine system. The headaches and thirst are the giveaway. Her brain was swelling due to lack of sufficient sodium in her blood, while the thirst was her body's way of signaling a need to take in salt.

No it doesn’t sound like that much. That is 4 or those small size bottles of water. And she was feeling weird before. I think something else is going on.

She needed to drink Brawndo. Brawndo has electrolytes.

Sad case. She was in the contest to win a WII for her son. Several people called in and warned the station about the danget. One even told them that she should go to emergency room. The DJ laughed about it.

My diet is so averse to processed foods that I knew my sodium intake would be low when I got my health back about 10 years ago. I switched to Himalayan salt about that time and frequently carry it with me, astonishing others as I salt even a salad and toast.

Some understand, others think I’m crazy and gonna die soon.

I just SMILE.

Yep - you can die if you only drink water and don’t replace the electrolytes (salt).

I’ll drink some water, then some gateraide. When I have two half-empty bottles I’ll pour one into the other.

Five of us kiddos. That wasn’t unusual back then. And we all drank out of the hose in the summer as did all of our friends. We didn’t want to be bothered with going inside just to get some water. LOL

I’m glad we grew up when we did. Idyllic days. We also used to spend lots of time on our bikes. Sometimes barefoot. And nobody had a bicycle helmet. I don’t know if we even knew they existed. 😄

The data lacking was her existing health condition. Obviously contributory.
