One of my friends turned out to be Bob Cummings' son and we escaped the guards on that place a couple of times to wander around looking for girls.
After we got back, we remained friends and I often visited him at his place on Laurel Way in Beverly Hills: that place was huge and had a nine-car Garage, two pools and a helicopter pad. I was, to say the least, impressed. He hosted a band (he played the drums) and one of his parties included Annette Funicello.
On one of my visits, I met his dad, briefly: he was shorter than I expected, darkly tanned and wrinkled, and distinctly unfriendly.
Ah, life in California in the '60s!
I recall seeing another movie entitled The Chase, in 1966. Although it featured big stars—Marlon Brando, Robert Redford and Comrade Jane Fonda—it was a spectacular flop. I considered it the worst movie I had ever seen until I saw Casino Royale a year later.

That’s only because you haven’t watched:
“Duel”
“Christine”
“Road House”
“The Road”
This is an interesting and underrated film noir. The quality of the available film prints has suffered because its original copyright was not renewed and the movie lapsed into the public domain.
If you are patient, this film is interesting. Peter Lorre and Steve Cochran are the heavies.
