Cases of leprosy are rising in Florida, according to a new analysis published in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) journal.
Although the disease is still rare in the U.S. -- with just 159 cases reported in 2020 -- a study released Monday from the EID and shared by the CDC found that Central Florida accounts for a bulk of those cases.

Central Florida equals Orlando. Yes it is bigger than just Orlando but that is the biggest population center.
Orlando’s biggest employers are theme parks, after the government and schools. Maybe bigger than them.
So if Orlando has a leprosy problem, it may be due to the theme parks hiring lots of inexpensive non-citizens, or contractors that employ such non-citizens.
Or maybe it’s due to the large same sex attraction crowd sharing meth and VD.
True. But in the medical journals they are finding cases -that they cannot explain transmission.
