I'd be willing to bet that if you got stuck in an elevator with Taylor Swift, she wouldn't know much about anything except songwriting and the music business.
Watching a recent documentary about her, it became clear that every move she makes has been choreographed by her handlers since she was a teenager.

Awhile back I read an article about how Taylor Swift made a surprise visit to an old WW2 vet who was a fan of hers. I was very impressed! And I won’t lie. It brought a tear to my eye.
Then I read about how Swift’s publicity team orchestrated the whole thing. They brought in cameras, reporters, etc. Aw, hell. Must every good deed be done with an ulterior motive? I suppose that I should be less cynical. But I can’t. Today’s America has, in a way, ruined me.
Taylor Swift does as she's told. It's really quite sad. She's the biggest music star in the world but hasn't got an independent thought in her head. Every move she makes is choreographed by her handlers, and has been for the past 15+ years.
Someday some historian will write a book about this.
And I say this as an absolute fan of her music.
Certainly a GOOD gesture on her part.
However.. the decisions she supposedly makes FINANCIALLY are a result of DIRECT GUIDANCE by her Dad, Scott Swift.
Swift, when Taylor was young and the family first moved to Nashville, was an already SUCCESSFUL and adept Certified Financial planner and money manager.
I'm not intending to diminish her, BUT, any FINANCIAL GENIUS attributes bestowed upon her actually belong to her VERY INTELLIGENT father Scott.
The only other thing I can HONESTLY say, that has already been stated by someone else on this thread is, like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift is also "Queen of the Auto-Tune gang."
Her monetary SUCCESS and earnings are based on her PUBLISHING ROYALTIES, which she totally controls, and her MASSIVE and EXPENSIVE TECHNOLOGICAL STAGE performances.
To put it SIMPLY... if SCOTT SWIFT were your father you too would be RICH!
I hear mostly negative things about her so who knows.

That’s my suspicion as well. And it reminds me of the way Elvis was treated. He could have had a long and very pleasant career. But his handlers just didn’t want that. They had other ideas.

I really like Taylor’s early stuff. And I wish her well. I just hope she can avoid ending up like Elvis did.

Anyway, it’s time for a Bob Hope story. My late father was a WW II naval officer. And one day Bob Hope visited his base. Hope told many good jokes. Everyone laughed. A good time was had by all.
Then some guy made an announcement on the PA system. All female personnel must leave the area, immediately. So all the female personnel left. Bob Hope then returned, and he told the most vulgar and disgusting jokes possible.
My father was both surprised and shocked. That’s war, I guess.
