‘Drunk driver’ Jamie Komoroski upset upon learning she’ll remain in jail for allegedly killing just-married South Carolina bride

The woman charged with drunkenly crashing into a golf cart, killing a just-married South Carolina bride, was visibly upset in court Tuesday as a judge refused to spring her from jail.

Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, breathed heavily and looked close to tears when she appeared at the proceedings via video.

The New Jersey native was dressed in a striped prison jumpsuit as Circuit Judge Michael Nettles ruled that she will remain in custody while awaiting trial on a slew of charges related to the April 28 wreck that killed Samantha Miller, 34, and left the groom and two others seriously injured.

“[Komoroski] didn’t just kill my child,” Miller’s mother, Lisa, said tearfully during the hearing.

“She killed all of us.”

In South Carolina, it could be punishable by as much as 25 years, but it can also be just one year depending on the judge or circumstances and all that.

why should it be legal to drive golf-cart type vehicles on any road traveled by full-sized ICE of EV autos?

She doesn't even have the decency to feel bad that she killed someone.

SHE'S still alive, which you can't say about her victim.

We live in a golf community. The main roads have golf cart crossings all over the place. If there’s an accident, the cart generally takes the hit - literally. T-boned.

1) She knew she was drunk.
2) She knew drunk driving is illegal.
3) She chose to drive anyway.
4) Estimated speed was 40 over the limit.
5) All the above and 1 dead and 1 seriously injured.
That’s criminally negligent homicide.
In other words, second degree murder.

10 years ago or so, a young punk, about 18-20 had been smoking weed and playing video games, all night, with friends.

About 9am he ran a stop sign and killed a young mother, in the crosswalk as she was pushing twins in a stroller.

He stated to the cops "I guess I f**ked my life up."

Same here in Idaho. You see all sorts of golf carts, UTVs, ATVs, enormous dedicated off-road vehicles, farm equipment, you name it on the roads and frequently in towns like Coeur d’Alene and nearby town centers.

I’ve been to Cali a few times. There are entire communities where elder citizens get to shopping venues, restaurant, etc. by using golf carts. All roads in these communities are blocked from regular auto traffic. A rather nice idea, I thought.

IOW, golf carts shouldn’t be street legal. And wherever the carts can operate should be off-limits to regular traffic.

The only place I would drive a golf cart is on the golf course.

I haven't read the details of this incident but maybe this happened at a country club? If so, not sure why they were driving a golf cart. They should have gotten in a limousine or a corvette instead.
