Austin? Why? It’s also a liberal hellhole.

San Francisco, the dump of California, is investigating a sign?

I am sure glad SF has taken care of all the crime and drug-related problems and now can go after the real criminal, Musk.

San Francisco has a lot of crap going on there that needs investigating but I don’t think an X on the roof of the Twitter building is one of them.

Time for Musk to close down the SF HQ and move operations to Texas or Florida.

Um, it is the responsibility of the sign company to secure permits.

This is a smear campaign.

Solution? Move it to Texas. Let the Freaks of San Francisco absorb the loss.

When you live or work in a commie hell hole, you'll find that you always need to pay the bite whenever ANYTHING needs to be done....

There's probably very little difference between a democratic government and the Mafia.....as proven by Washington DC today.

Re: "Why is this even in the news?"

Because it is the only law in San Francisco that is actually being enforced?

You get my meaning except I would never build back again instead leaving scorched earth in my wake.

Never knew jefferson Airplane to think that deeply.

San Fran needs a lot of money. Not afraid to get it by code violations even if they hurt no one.

That is the way code violations work. They are just a money grab (because money fixes everything).

What currently worries me is the fact that crimes against people or property are brushed under the rug but process or paperwork crimes are being punished harshly.

This is a change that is not going to end well for society.

I see that the song “Tobacco Road” was written and performed by a guy named John Loudermilk in 1960, but became a hit for The Nashville Teens (from Britain!) in 1964.

Jefferson Airplane (JA) had several cover songs on their first album, which was more folk-rock. One of my favorites is “Chauffeur Blues” which is an old song (1941) co-written by a woman called “Memphis Mille”.

JA’s first woman singer was a gal by the name of Signe Anderson and she sang that song. I have no idea if Grace Slick meant it, or she just didn’t like the song, but they never performed that song again, saying that it was “Anderson’s song”. She left after the first album realizing being on the road with a young child was no way to live. She passed away a few years ago, and still did local performances with various small groups.

TMI, but....

I was a teen when the Beatles hit America and saw the “British Invasion” upclose - great music in that first wave including the One-Hit Wonders like “The Nashville Teens”

Jefferson Airplane’s album “Surrealistic Pillow” with Grace Slick was a HUGE hit of psychodelic rock and part of the SF response to the British Invasion.

Crazy times for a teen who move to Hollywood....
