Purchased 2 pair of Levi Denim Bermuda Shorts and received items on Saturday, July 22. Size was too large so repacked both pair of shorts with a written notice to AMAZON employees please note 2 pair in the box as AMAZON has only credited us for 1 pair online into our gift card receptacle. Shorts were returned to AMAZON vis UPS store in our neighborhood on Monday, July 24. On Wednesday, July 26 UPS website confirms package received at Shepherdsville KY AMAZON Returns Center. Meanwhile online our Amazon account still shows a credit for only 1 pair of shorts. Called AMAZON yesterday and spoke with a Filipino woman who took 20 minutes to tell me the credit will be given when they process my return. Said could take TWO WEEKS. Today I called AMAZON again and again got a Filipino woman who kept me on hold for 19 minutes then told me she couldn't find anyone to give me credit. As I began to explain to her what was going on, she disconnected the call. And we spend hundreds of dollars per month on Amazon. And they have no clue as to how to process a valid return from a repeat customer. A multi-billion dollar corporation.
Wow. I take returns to my local Khols. My credit card is updated the next day. No fuss, no muss.
Sheesh, can you send a pair to 4runner.
I always use Prime’s Try Before You Buy. Never had problems with it.
The key is to always REQUEST the return within the “window.” I think it’s a uniform 30 days. Then, return it when you can.
It’s not a bad idea to just request a return on almost everything, print out the code, and then use that if you need to.
At some point they might object, but not yet, to my knowledge.
Also don’t forget your option to dispute the charge. This is out of Amazon’s control, though they do get to respond.
Call the secret phone number:
888-280-4331 keep saying “live person” if a bot menue encountered.
Amazon has gone big into auto parts. I compare them with Rockauto and Summit and go with the cheapest. Amazon is frequently the lowest price. Rockauto has the best catalog system though so I use them first for part number lookup.
They don’t actually sell anything (publicsq)
Actually often it’s the same with Amazon but they act as the middle man. I use Amazon as a product search engine. I see where they get it and then I go directly to the source.
I’ve never had a problem. The last return was about a month ago. Money was rapidly returned to my card. Return UPS label provided. No hassles. Your mileage may vary.
Update on this. Today more of the same from Amazon treating me like a criminal over a twenty-five dollar missing credit after I spent over $2,500 buying from them since January 2023 and went to the trouble of returning the twenty-five dollar items in a timely manner using the method they requested.
Today on the phone the Amazon guy from the Islands tells me in a very snotty tone that there is no record of my package ever having been received by the returns department, despite my claim of having a Proof Of Delivery confirmation from UPS.
None of these reps ever bothered to even ask for the tracking number which is the first thing I would think they would ask for.
Oddly enough, I received the Proof Of Delivery from UPS at 4 in the afternoon yesterday, yet it indicated a delivery time of 7 pm, 3 hours later.
I thought this was really strange. So now I’m thinking there is substantive fraud or theft in the UPS system in Florida. Not just my small inexpensive items.
So I tried to establish an account with UPS online which is what you must do to file a theft claim with them. However after going through creation of passwords and user names, their system disallowed my application despite it being correct in all the particulars.
Since I am a resident of Florida I’m thinking there may possibly be some substantive fraud or theft activity in this state which is being experienced by Amazon but they are not saying anything to customers about it.
Instead their attitude on the phone is suspicious of the customer, definitely not customer centric as it always has been in the past. All they will say to me in lockstep is they have no options to offer me. End of conversation.
I’m beginning to think this may all be reactionary political, or woke, Amazon declining to provide services to customers who are residents of Florida, because of the leftwing media take on DeSantis.
All of it coming, of course as it always does, from the top.
I’m reporting you to the mods as abusive. Have a great day.
I take my returns to an Amazon store and the money is usually in my account before I get back to my car.
Yes, at least for good customers then the consensus is that Amazon, despite the owner being a liberal, has a exceptional record of service.
It also tends to have the largest inventory, and thank God we are so blessed to be able to buy some of such.
Amazon has twice in the last month shipped us defective items that had been previously opened and just retapped shut.
One was a treadmill with multiple broken pieces. The other was TV trays where the legs had split and the table was gouged.
We are now looking elsewhere for things.
