I don't know what it is. It's Hollywood's take on the issue. 3 hours. I'm sure they took liberties with the truth. Was his foolin' around with other women important? Perhaps a documentary would have been too boring for people's attention spans.
Interenting: Casey Affleck and Rami Malek playing secondary roles in the film after being leading men in other movies. Work in Hollywood's gotta be hard to come by.

Churchill after WW2 was won. Bush ‘41 after Kuwait. Trump. Trent Dilfer-lol.
Teller and Fermi were more vital to the project.

if he actually fooled around then I don’t see the problem I prefer the truth. Would have been refreshing to know about JFK and LBJ and Clinton sooner.
Casey Affleck was really good in ‘Gone, Baby Gone’ but I like all of Dennis LeHane’s mysteries. He was very much the ‘Patrick’ I had in my head from the books. Easy on the eyes, too. ;)
Rami Malek blew me away as Freddy Mercury.
‘Oppenheimer’ was recommended to me by the 20’s something young man who was my cashier at the grocery store last week. I was going to pass on that recommendation, alone. LOL!
Did the movie address Oppenheimer’s Communist activities, his connection to Soviet intelligence, or his name being mentioned in the Venona decrypts that disclosed Soviet spying? If so, he was probably portrayed as a victim of the “McCarthy Witch Hunt.”
I have not seen the movie, but it looks similar to a movie made about Alfred Kinsey, the sex therapist. Like Kinsey, Oppenheimer is a secular “saint” worthy of a hagiography.
You can’t trust Hollywood to present a reasonable case in any matter anymore. They can be trusted to twist history and constantly piss on your leg saying it’s raining.
Struggling with whether to see it this morning.
“Critical Drinker,” whom I really trust, said it was excellent—too long, but very good.
Work’s not that hard to come by, but Nolan has a high profile, stars will take small rolls just to work with him. Matt Damon had agreed to take a couple years off for his wife, but Nolan was his “hall pass” in their discussion, and then Nolan called. That’s his prestige level.
As for his fooling around, it’s part of why he lost his clearance, so it seemed to be important to somebody.
I thought it was a great movie.
I went for a 3 mile walk beforehand knowing it would be a long sit down.
They probably wanted to work with director Christopher Nolan, in any capacity.
It’s funny. The drama was all over losing his security clearance. He did his job. There was nothing left to conquer.
The ‘punishment’ reminds me of Bill Clinton losing his law license over lying to a grand jury and the proper use of cigars. He was POTUS-nothing left to conquer there either.
I saw it in an IMAX theater and wish I had taken my noise-cancelling headphones. I’m no where near as hard of hearing as I thought I was. Jeez, that was loud.
Marxist sympathizers are no heroes.
All I can do is not pay hollyweird one thin dime to see any of their movies. I may see it in the future but I’m not paying for the privilege.
I saw it last night on 70mm.
I’ve been a amateur nuclear historian since before I was in HS.
Technically and historically, the film was very accurate.
Of course visually stunning.
Jean Turlock was actually a Red Sparrow working for the Soviets and was recruiting other women to be come mistresses for other scientists.
Its not widely reported as its a fairly recent discovery from Russian documents.
The casting of Jean was wrong.
No guy would throw away his life for that bi***.
His wife was ok but nothing special.
There were about 15-20 spies either working at Los Alamos or connected to them.
For SURE 4 were working at Los Alamos.
Other than Fuchs, the film ignored the spy issue.
The nudity was unnecessary and added nothing to the story unless you like boobs 10’ tall (on 70mm screen)
I really enjoyed the film and it was much better than “Fatman and Little Boy” for accuracy.
I would have been surprised if he hadn’t fooled around. People isolated at the Manhattan project site, lots of young secretaries, being the bigshot on the project.
Who did the movie say he fooled with?
