Rob and Laura Petrie lived in New Rochelle. My the neighborhood has changed. The library is called Huguenot Library. Rochelle was a Huguenot stronghold in France. About half the settlers in New Netherlands were Huguenot and many of the towns in the Hudson Valley are Huguenot.
New Rochelle is just north of the Bronx, what used to be the “good” part of the Bronx.
Funny thing is Riverdale in the Bronx is considerably nicer than the neighborhood in Yonkers that it borders. Much of the north Bronx (Williamsbridge, Baychester) is not as nice as the Bronx nabes to the immediate southeast on the sound (Pelham Bay, City Island).
In the marina there is a monument and a plaque with the 151 Huguenot names for the original families when the city was founded in the 1680s
