That wasn't shoplifting. Shoplifting is when you walk into a store, conceal one or two items under your clothing, then leave. When you roll a couple of shopping carts out of the store filled with stolen merchandise, it's not shoplifting, it's looting.

As crime continues to rise and the Courts refuse to punish the criminals for their actions, law enforcement officers learn that it simply is not worth the risk to pursue or arrest the perps. Besides the waste of time in processing the paper work, the cops are at risk of arresting the “wrong” person or an arrest going sideways resulting in someone screaming “racism”.
Retail thefts on a large scale have become a business itself. Companies cannot continue to operate when all their profits simply walk out the door.
More and more businesses in these crime-ridden inner cities are going to move or simply close their doors altogether. The usual suspects will scream “racism” and “corporate greed”.
This acceptance and endorsement of criminal actions by all branches of our government cannot go on much longer. At some point the pendulum will swing the other way and I fear what is going to happen as that pendulum starts its journey. I believe the reversal will be instigated by the people themselves against the wishes of government. That is where the conflict will begin. The government and the people are at odds with each other and no longer have common goals. A nation in that situation has never endured for much longer once it has reached that point.

I grew up in a neighborhood where our local convenience/grocery store was run by an old Italian man. If you stole something, his sons would have no problem pursuing you and administering prompt justice.
