Former Defense Official Shares Claims Of Off-World Technology, Expects New Revelations At UFO Hearing

An ex-Department of Defense (DoD) official made some out-of-this-world claims about UFOs on Monday.

Christopher Mellon, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence and Senate staffer, told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo that a congressional hearing scheduled for Wednesday provides an “opportunity” to better understand the issue from credible sources.

[...]

Planned by a House Oversight subcommittee, the hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) is set to feature testimony from two former Navy pilots who claim to have witnessed mysterious flying objects that appear to defy the laws of physics while participating in training exercises.

Also announced as a witness was David Grusch, a U.S. military and intelligence veteran who has gone public with allegations about crafts of non-human origin being retrieved and kept from Congress.

Lending some credence to Grusch’s assertions about a cover-up, Mellon said he has been told that “we have recovered technology that did not originate on this earth by officials in the Department of Defense and by former intelligence officials,” some of whom he has referred “to the office that is undertaking this investigation.”

Mellon also said he expects Grusch “will provide some new information that we have not heard before” at the hearing, but he stressed that Grusch is limited by law in what he can reveal, including identifying intelligence personnel who may be involved in the matter.

Chris Mellon, former Dep. Asst. SecDef for Intelligence, had a classification that permitted him to see evidence and to talk to people in the Pentagon, the services, and in the Intelligence Community about what they've seen and are willing to testify about.

BTW, he's not a witness in the hearing tomorrow. He doesn't care what you think of his statements.

That said, IIRC he has testified before classified House and Senate Committees on this subject under oath. They took his word.

As an aside, not believing all this stuff (or believing it is contrived by someone or some group or believing it is swamp gas) is a valid theory.

Not a darned thing wrong with that.

For all we know, this might be some kind of mass hallucination. Who the heck knows?

Skeptic is one thing. Much ado about nothing. is another. We hope to discuss this rationally with an open mind with people who know something about the issue or wish to learn. Dissing serves no purpose..

No, I didn’t. The very next one did the very same thing. You seem to actually think that Representatives represent us to Congress, while it actually seems to work the other way.

Having a classification and its permnissioins is nothing withou an assignment and mission with a need to know. I had the highest security clearance possible in the military and have no knowledge anything classified that was not part of my own duties. Does Mellon produce the persons he spoke to or evidence the evidence he saw? No. His statements are his only evidence. Like the say in Missouri - “show me”.

No, you were talking about how Congress should be spending time doing something else. That is a clear indication that you want us to go do something as well, since you are better suited to specify the use of our time. What never occurred to you is that those particular Congressmen ARE DOING what We The People asked them to do. That is actually rare. This activity did not start in Congress, it started when an “ordinary civilian” rubbed Congresscritter noses in the issue, and demonstrated very clearly there is substance.

“this might be some kind of mass hallucination”

Interesting comment—in my view the “mass hallucination” is the “facts” we are “taught” in school and then by the mass media—a way of looking at the world around us that suppresses our natural ability to look at the world with wonder and an open mind—rather than blindly accepting the narrative of “experts” and other authority figures.

Out of politeness, we agree to allow people to talk about what they wish with being told they aught to talk about something else. If you start a thread, you’d prefer people to stay on topic and not tell you to use your time differently. Damn that Golden Rule, right?

So, you don’t agree with a post and it’s automatically harassing and trolling? Kind of like being triggered?

Where have I heard that before?

Stayed at my uncle’s house in Albuquerque before we moved out here. Hanging on his bedroom wall was a photograph of what I first thought was a Saturn V section laying on it’s side.

Upon closer inspection it was larger, at least apparently so in scale to the people (my uncle being one of them) standing in front of it. It did have the obligatory USA flag stickers on the side and a defense contractor sticker, I think was Raytheon, but I wouldn’t bet my life on that one. The “front”, to the left, was a half sphere with what looked like circular gears or teeth.

I asked my uncle what it was. He looked a little alarmed/disturbed at first, but then said “Hell, you can look up the God damn patent now if you want to” and proceeded to tell me about the nuclear powered tunneling machine that can make smooth sided tunnels at the rate of up to 7 miles a day. At the time I had no frame of reference and was still fairly impressed. It wasn’t until after we moved out here and people kept talking about the tunnels and DUMBs (Deep Underground Military Bases) that I put two and two together.

Now YOU can go “well that’s a really great story” but I have to take it from another perspective.

I know my uncle worked for the labs (Sandia and Los Alamos) in security. I know he briefed President Bush on at least one occasion. Before he worked for the labs he was with the DoE and before that Air Force Intelligence. My grandfather was OSS during WW2 and we recently found out CIA for most of his life thereafter. After he passed we found out he sat next to Ferdinand Marcos on the plane that took him into exile. That whole part of the family was spooks.

All that to say I have no reason to believe I was being lied to. You, of course, have no such assurance.

With that being said, things that my uncle did, and didn’t, tell me over the years lead me to believe that we have many, many secrets we do not share with the American people for a wide variety of reasons. He did flat out tell me that the government helps promote false UFO narratives to confuse the issue. When I pointed out that this meant that there “was” a UFO issue he gave me a “no shit Sherlock” look.

There is something there. They are hiding something. They have killed people to keep it secret. If the WHOLE truth came out it would be, in my opinion, very, very embarrassing for the US government.

“If the WHOLE truth came out it would be, in my opinion, very, very embarrassing for the US government.”

I think it is a lot worse than embarrassing—because criminal activities are ongoing.

Yes—I said criminal.

The coverup is to hide the guilty.

That's not what I said.

What I'm saying is that it's not okay to hijack a thread because you don't like the subject of it.

You don't like that, do you?

Expressing your opinion on-topic (whatever your opinion is) is your business and all opinions are as valid as any other.

Well, that's true too.

I was thinking more along the lines of the "Life is a Simulation" theory. Or the "We're Living Inside a Dream" theory.

BTW, you don't it's okay to spam a thread you don't like with huge distracting images that are unrelated to the subject of the thread, do you?

Or spamming a Gardening Thread with discussions of automobiles or motorcycles (not in response to a related question...just to spam the thread because you don't like the subject of it).

How did I hijack a thread? Because I made a comment you don’t like?

I merely stated that all this UFO stuff is another squirrel to distract us from the real problems. Ones that are going to cost us billions. Ones, given the fact that they’re catching terrorists coming in, that could lead to some seriously bad things happening in this country.

I remember (sort of) reading about a President, I’m guessing Carter, who asked to be shown Area 51 alien stuff and was denied by some general.

There was a congressman from Arizona that swore he would get access to Area 51 and reveal the truth of Roswell. Probably dead and gone by now but obviously he didn't succeed.

Here was your original comment. The one I was referring to:
By this time next year, there will be around 10,000,000 and still counting illegal aliens in this country. Toss in a few million more anchor babies. Refugees from wherever. Potential to have troops on the ground in Ukraine. Increasing inflation. Terrorists being allowed in over our southern border.

Lets talk about UFOs

If you don't want to discuss UFO's, go to another thread. Don't spam this one because you don't think people should be able to discuss them.

It looks like you don't think people should have the freedom of speech to discuss what they want. That they must discuss the topics you approve of...not UFO's.

Am I wrong?
