This week marked another terminal chapter in the candidacy of Ron DeSantis. New polling illustrates his continued descent in the 2024 GOP primary.
The campaign is virtually bankrupt, with nowhere to turn after a devastatingly low show of support amongst small dollar donors.
Yet, Ron refuses to accept reality.
Tallahassee’s consultants have read the writing on the wall—but their objective remains unchanged: milk as many dollars as possible.

Great post.
The Democrats in Congress were happy to accept Ford as VP — because they could spot a loser a mile away.
“ Chris “the whale” Christie has a chance of being the 2024 POTUS election winner?”
No.
“ However, it would definitely guarantee a Democrat win”
Election fraud guarantees that no matter the real vote.
“I think the RNC will not let Trump run in their party or there will be some other means to keep him from being nominee.”
Trust me, they wanted to do just that non-stop, particularly in 2016...and then they wanted Trump to be CONVICTED after his Impeachments, and be done with him for good. It’s more than obvious. And you are right, in part, that they would LOVE to find a way to keep Trump out in 2024.
But they, the GOP leadership, keeps crashing into the same BRICK WALL every time they start to seriously move in that direction - which is:
Get rid of Trump, and you also get rid of Trump VOTERS. And not a SINGLE Republican would be in the House or Senate*, or just about any other office, as Trump voters are at least half of the Republican Party.
It’s a problem that simply cannot be solved...which is why Trump is still around, to this day.
*ok, maybe 1 or 2 RINOs would still get elected without Trump voters, but that’s about it.
The out of control ego is a terrible thing to witness. However, it demonstrates one thing, the man is not presidential material.
...He must have had a crapload of Trump haters whispering in his ear, building up his ego, selling him a bunch of crap, and he arrogantly believed them.
+++++++++++++
Steve Cortez comes to mind. Don’t think he’s a Trump hater though. Ken Cuccinelli also fits this bill. I kind of liked Cortez. Cuccinelli gives me the swamp creature vibe. Both have bad judgement.
Same. I don't think he has any core values. He's not evil. He's just not very good.
I think he would have waited until ‘28 but he saw his opportunity if the Uniparty/Soros kangaroo courts are able to hand the nomination to him. His problem now is he falling to third place and perhaps his Uniparty handlers might go a different never Trump direction.
Ron’s only job now should be just to pad the campaign account for a future Senate seat bid.
Just another useless poll. There was another yesterday that Trump would win up against Biden by a larger margin then DeSantis up against Biden who also won but by a smaller margin. He’s also in second place well behind Trump but still second place.
The only poll that matters is the results of the 2024 election.
Jeb! 2.0.
It is DeSantis’ own damned fault for aligning with the Bush Crime Family and turning himself into a meat puppet of the Deep State.
What a terrible, TERRIBLE waste of a GOOD MAN.
I could cry thinking about what could have been, if only he had WAITED.
Kristie Noem was wise to wait
It looks like the GOPe donors may be switching to Vivek.
Yep
he’s a capable Administrator. But that’s much easier when the legislator is owned by your Party.
That’s it, in a nutshell.
DeSantis did this. DeSantis did that.
DeSantis has a Republican dominated legislature...on his side or is he on the legislatures side???....and all but a 3 Republican counties.
Republican’s are the majority in the state. Quite frankly, a high schooler from the Republican debate team would be able to “lead” Florida with a deck stacked like that.
Many on Team DeSantis will whine that Pres Trump supporter’s like to say that Pres Trump did “this, that, and the other thing” and that he took credit for all of that, all the time. Well, to all those on Team DeSantis they would be 100% correct. Pres Trump got ZERO help from Congress, got ZERO help from anyone.
He turned Florida into a red state.
Agreed, use these years to support Trump, and thus the conservative cause. Instead, he took the RINO path with RINO establishment backing, not good, another Romney.
Florida was already RED.
Florida has better weather...if you can stand the heat and humidity of the summer...than the Northeast and Northern Midwest.
People have been flocking to Florida for decades.
Dem cities have made policing almost unbearable so Florida law enforcement agencies have enjoyed mass migration of veteran cops to fill their ranks. In so doing, they’ve brought their families.
While Blue States might be union states, the rank and file in many of those unions tend to be blue collar Republicans, as my father was. You have increasing taxes, all the other liberal nonsense that always gets worse and then COVID. Fortunately, many of those folks were able to find buyers for their homes, they sold and they took their union pensions with them to Florida.
You are who you are, cowboyusa...one of DeSantis’ ultimate fanbois’/girls(no big deal) and it’s All DeSantis, All the Time...which is fine. He deserves no more credit for Republicans moving to Florida than Scott or Crist, even.
