That's because I've seen your libertarian argument before, and the conflation of "more government-funded and subsidized addictive substances in society = freedom" is easy to debunk.
You're the type who probably thinks Las Vegas is a symbol of freedom and individual choice, as you dump money into corporate owned casinos.
You either foster an environment where free people understand the choice between growing up healthy and free or growing up addicted and sickly, or you open their eyes to the fact that no good actor tries to get you addicted to deadly drugs for the sake of "freedom".
Teach them to spot the pusher and the drug dealer, whether it's RJ Williams, Brown & Williamson, Pfizer, or a drug dealer on the corner. Also teach them to spot the charlatan who says "destroying yourself is freedom!"
