Seattle vagrants have now constructed a homeless encampment in the trees above the crime-ridden city, prompting one stunned local to liken it to the Ewok Village from Star Wars.
Local journalist Jonathan Choe stumbled across the ramshackle treehouse high in the city's trees on Friday, and deployed a drone to get a closer look.
The Ewok encampment has a wooden stepladder to let its residents reach the ground below it. Its floor appears to be comprised of foam blocks, with a net supporting the soft material, which likely gives the shelter's residents a comfortable sleeping experience.
Up top, the sci-fi style enclosure is covered with a green tarpaulin. It has been stuffed with mounds of trash and the sort of detritus commonly seen in other encampments, including clothes and a black plastic crate.
It's unclear who lives in the treehouse and no residents were visible during Choe's visit. The Ewok Village appeared in Return of the Jedi, the 1983 movie that was the third in the original Star Wars trilogy. But unlike the sight that greets Seattle locals, it was a peaceful and idyllic location home to a tribe of Ewoks - furry creatures native to the fictional moon of Endor.

Regards,
There’s something you don’t see everyday.
San Fransicko has land mines, now Scuzattle has bombs falling from trees.
Must be nut trees!
I can well imagine the sewage falling below.
if they’re building it themselves, without stealing and doesn’t become a housing for thieves & rapists, i’m generally ok with this as along as the land isn’t privately owned.
at least they’re off the streets.
of course, much of the problem will clear itself up around december... as things get really cold and the storms shake things out of the trees.
A far better analogy than Ewoks would be Swift’s </i> Yahoos,</i> a race of primitive filthy humans who sometimes lived in trees and flung filth at passersby below. Not surprising the current illiterate never thought of that.
Whereas Noa Halff most likely has watched every Star Wars movie ever made, and probably more than once. That would explain the reference to a Star Wars movie. That, and the intended audience this person writes to probably has no idea who this Swift person is, either.

He thought it only fair that those who trafficked in drugs paid the ultimate price that so many of their customers paid.
And equally fair that users who failed rehab three times were exiled off the island where they had two choices-- get clean and apply for reinstatement or die from their filthy habit.
I could not argue that his logic was much more kindhearted than the U.S. approach to enable these habits.
Who cares it’s Seattle
I’ll bet the Ewok village rains poop and pee all day long.
Just wait until it catches fire.
Is that the one next to the medical center that set off a forest fire this morning in Seattle?

As does Husqvarna
Put a KandN air filter on that puppy and TIMBER !!!
Stupid Seattlunatics. They are pretending to be stewards of the trees but are in fact killing them by cutting inconvenient limbs, nailing crap to the trunks, and digging up the root structure.
If ignorance is bliss these dullards must be positively ecstatic!
