I spent some time with Stern on business.

He is a creep. Not “cool” at all. Just a jerk.

Nor did I ever even remotely “like” his show.

I would rather talk with just about anyone.

I remember when Stern first came on WWDC - DC101 - in 1981 or so, which was the most popular rock station at the time. Certainly a different way to start the day!

He was generally rude, but not outright crass. Of course, standards have deteriorated greatly since then.

Howard Stern is now Dom Imus.

Old. Tiresome. Uninteresting.

Actually, for Howie, it’s worse.

On top of all those things, Stern is no longer relevant.

Back in the day, Stern was a cultural force. The morning show became office talk. People would quote lines or call some dope in the office Baba Booey.

Back then, Howard was also funny.

He jumped the shark when Jackie Martling left the show.

Today, nobody in the office or at parties talks about what happened in Stern’s morning show. He’s white noise.

He’s wealthy. But I bet he curses Joe Rogan and his 40 million listeners, and is envious of how people write about Rogan.

I remember the Mancow rants. Howie was high on dethroning Philadelphia’s Zookeeper, John DeBella, and then celebrating DeBella’s divorce. These rants were tasteless then. But Stern’s fan ate up his smash mouth approach to other DJs.

The only DJs that really got to Stern were Opie and Anthony, and they crashed fantastically. FWIW, I always thought Opie was like Yoko, the leech to Anthony’s brilliance.

If we ignore Stern, he’ll get even more peeved. It’s awesome.

I hated the show and being forced to hear it, but I admit, Jackie Martling was the funniest part.

But not in the way you might think. I'm not sure I've ever heard a comedian whose jokes and songs were less funny than Martling.

But people underestimate how funny an emotion resentment can be. His sense of resentment and delusion were hilarious. But, I guess it lead to him leaving the show. I wonder if he makes less money now.

Whenever he said, "We are the Beatles of comedy," it was hilarious. If they were the Beatles of comedy, he was a groupie.

This is not shocking or previously unknown. It was in Stern’s book. He ‘says’ he felt bad about it but who knows.

—”I remember the Mancow rants.”

Before the Clinton/Monica affair came out on Drudge and most news, many younger coworkers had heard about it from Mancow Muller a few days prior.

... how much a ticket from National Airport to the 17th Street Bridge cost.

My favorite was after a mob hit in an NYC steakhouse Stern called up and made a reservation for dinner. As the reservation was being read back by the restaurant worker, Stern added "Oh! can you make that in the NO shooting section!"

GREASEMAN was the one that got away. He was the first to be utterly crucified and had more talent in his little finger than all of these cats put together. If only he had had more time to develop. Alas.
