Back in 2008, a journalist asked Ringo Starr what he wanted for his birthday. “Peace and love,” Starr replied. Ringo is so beloved that, these days, every July 7, social media is filled with “peace and love” tags for Ringo’s birthday.
Ringo — one of the few “one name” celebrities — was 68 that year (he’s 82 now). He brings his still youthful stellar musicianship, along with his “All Starr” band, to Benaroya Hall for an Oct. 11 concert. (Starr tested positive for the coronavirus and had to cancel and reschedule several stops on his tour this week. As of this writing, the Seattle show is still scheduled, but best to check online closer to the date of the show.)

“Luckiest” drummer of all time.
Ringo said it himself that the Beatles were a pretty limited band with just three guitarists and a drummer. So, to compensate, he would play all sorts of percussionist instruments, whether it be the castanets or tambourine just to provide some rounding out of the band’s capabilities.
“Buck Owens and Ringo Starr”
That was excellent, after that video was one of the Beatle’s themselves with Ringo doing “Put me in the movies”
Lol really
“ had tongontonsea but the butter wouldn’t so I made a butter pie “
He was a prolific writer, and I love the Beatles, but much of his stuff was pure bubble gum, but the rest pure genius
He knows how to make music and money lol “band in the run…”
Even though i detest the man’s positions I would put Roger waters above him and Gilmore combined with his guitar as well
But hey I am biased, and just my opinion
Someone asked him what he thought of the criticism of his drumming skills. He asked, “Oh yea, I was the drummer for the Beatles. Who did they pay for?”

Keith Moon=best ever
Ginger Baker= next
Ringo= Don’t make me laugh
The Beatles nickname for him was The Professional.
And that is exactly what he is...
The definition of professional drummer.
There’s a pro drummer on YouTube who has drummers. who knock Ringo, to play some of his beats and shuffles and they generally can’t do it without drifting badly. Ringo did it almost indifferently and often was singing besides.
Strong beat. Steady. Metronymic. Exactly the adult musician they needed at the time to bust out onto the world stage. LOVED to tour but gracefully relented and was Inexhaustible in the studio (the Beatles stopped touring). Instantly invented the perfect groove for every new Lennon/McCartney tune thrown his way (as long as Paul wasn’t being insufferable) and became the master of the backing track. Incomparable, invaluable, humble.
The Stray Cats are the guys that The Who, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones would go to see in concert.

Leaving a hole is as important as filling it. -Ringo (Concert for George).
Ooh, you got me. He is a bad person. I have committed wrong think. I am so sorry.
After Micky Dolenz and his wife divorced, she dated Ringo Starr for a while. I guess she liked drummers.
Seattle can shove anything and everything up their arse in my opinion. Don’t care what their opinion is on any subject.
My top 5 drummers includes one always underrated guy, Tommy Aldridge. Saw him first with Black Oak and thought what a waste of talent there. Later played with Ozzy, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Nugent and was Randy Rhoads favorite drummer. Been with Whitesnake wince 2013 to present. Quite a long career.
The drum solo that sold me on him from 1973. Worth a watch if you’ve never heard of him.

Yup. Seen a couple of them. Sometimes simplicity is hard. 😂👍
Actually, the drum playing was covered by guitar play but during editing, they removed the guitars to highlight the drum sequence. It’s on Anthology.
