The ‘credibility’ such narratives have has spiked. So yes, there is a group trying to convince us this is not just wild conspiracy theories. I don’t know from where it is driven but it is happening and it seems like a convenient distraction.
So yes, I have noticed.
That said, most Americans aren't following this story. FR is one of the only places anyone can see this stuff (God Bless Jim).
What's driving it is that military and intel community whistleblowers are coming out of the woodwork to tell their stories to classified Congressional Intel Committees...and Congress is getting ready to make some hearings public.
As an aside, the reason whistleblowers are coming out is that Congress has indemnified them against any actions taken by the Department of Defense to shut them up...and the DOD is pissed.
It is driven by Dr. Steven Greer and a number of military and civilian material witnesses who are striving to force disclosure. They managed to obtain the ears of open-minded Congressmen. An official disclosure task group was then formed, and they are forcing lawful disclosure.
It is not the government that is forcing this disclosure. It is a group of hard-working civilians and brave people with insider knowledge. People like to point out that such secrets cannot be hidden indefinitely, citing this as the reason it is all bunk. Now when those very insiders start to talk, it is still label as bunk. Talk about The Kobayashi Maru
