Teens being teens.
Bigger question is why are the Secret Service doing traffic control and chasing vehicle infractions? This chase just killed people. Were bad tags actually THAT important??? To the Secret Service???
Was it a stolen car. Maybe a illegal.. They are probly racist.
A traffic stop attempt because of expired tags I read on local DC news website WTOP.
Some cities just forbid pursuit.
Even though it is often from routine traffic stops like this that the majority of felons are caught, where illegal guns are found, and people with outstanding warrants are located. Now, in places where they cannot give chase, felons are emboldened to flee.
Clearly this driver was concerned about something much worse than his expired tags.
And the SS can’t stop a car? Even with radios and access to police etc? I think they were specifically looking for someone.
I didn't know that the Secret Service enforced traffic laws.
Secret Service?
The hit and run driver was obviously posing a threat to the White House.
I’ve walked through that intersection many times.
That OR your car doesn’t pass the new nationwide California Emissions Testing. So, sorry. Fix it or we will crush it.
17th Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW, is near the White House ellipse. Not a smart area to be if avoiding the police.
> federal agents with the division tried to pull over the vehicle after spotting its expired registration <
What a weird story. I will in no way defend the trash driver who killed a pedestrian. Such a person needs to be sent away for 15 years or so.
But I am surprised to see Secret Service agents performing minor traffic stops. I would think that they’d have better things to do, and leave traffic enforcement to the DC police.
Oh, well. Maybe the Secret Service agents were just bored. Or maybe they were fans of that old TV cop show, “Adam-12”.
Hunter’s dealer???
That was my first question as well. Would SShave jurisdiction on DC streets?
Trump was the driver...IMPEACH!!!
I don’t know... That is why I asked. Was it worth endangering the public in a place like that for bad tags? Did they stop to think it was possible they might run?
Follow them and call for local police to stop them in a safer place maybe?
Nice job by the Biden cop shop.
Kind of out of place for them...
My question also
